Very cute chic hotel.
We stayed one night after dinner in Gulfport on New Years Eve. Our room was right after you opened the door to the hallway - room 10. Clean, comfortable, spacious, updated. There were a couple drawbacks to this particular room. Every time the heavy door opened and closed to the hallway; we heard it. Also, there is a square cutout in the room - on the other side in the elevator. - heard that all night too. Heard the TV and the snoring in the next room all night. I feel that perhaps it just wasn't soundproofed very well. I would stay here again - just in a different room. Check out is 11 instead of the usual 10- That was nice. Ther is a bar downstairs that was closed to the public, but I would like to get a reservation next time.

The Gulf Coast's Hidden Gem
From my first contact with the hotel via phone, I felt very comfortable and excited about our pending stay. The staff member answered my few questions and was very helpful and friendly. Upon arrival, we were greeted graciously and with the warmth that made us feel greatly appreciated. Then came the room. We were amazed at first glance. It was very spacious, warm, cozy, and comfortable beyond measure. The architecture was exquisite and furnishings were perfect. The bathroom was one of the largest we have ever encountered, with the shower stall large enough for 4 people, literally. They even had a Nespresso coffee maker, which gave us a divine cup of coffee. The mini fridge was stock with some local breweries selections, for a fee of course. The lounge and restaurant were very comfortable and offered great selections for food and refreshments. The staff was definitely the most friendly and personable we have been around in years, throughout all of our travels. We highly recommend staying at the Hotel Vela and I promise you won't be disappointed in any phase of your stay. We can't wait to return for a longer stay. We have already recommended it to friends and family. A wonder experience!

Great hotel.. Would be perfect if only there were windows yes no windows that you can view or see out of in your room. Feels like a box but a very beautiful box!

I extended my stay to two more nights that alone speaks for itself. Other than that coming into my hometown with great service was amazing. I really enjoyed myself and this hotel is now my go to place when I visit. Even all the ladies who worked each shift along with the housekeeping lady was kind. Keep up the good work. 😊💛

It was a quick getaway to bring in the New Year. The spot is soooo cute and modern. The staff was extremely nice and personable. We ain’t didn’t a chance to try out the restaurant but we’ll definitely be back to stay.

Excellent small hotel in the heart of downtown Gulfport! All of the staff that I encountered were very friendly, bed was large and super comfortable, the room and common areas were very clean. It appears there is a small restaurant/lounge attached but it was not open being a Monday. Lots of dining/drinking choices literally right around the corner. I would gladly stay again!!
