As well as beaches and bush walks nearby, there is fishing, surfing, sea kayaking, boat trips, diving, golfing, horse trekking, art trails, wine tasting and country stores nearby.

Limited regional buses or shuttles connect Hahei with larger towns, but having a car is recommended for flexibility.
