Hakone is beautiful and so is this hotel. We loved the location as it was a 5 min walk from the train station, 7 min walk from the convenience store, and surrounded by gorgeous scenery. The staff was pleasant and no issues checking in, but there was one night when a group of older folks from the UK decided to turn the quiet seating area into a loud bar, drinking and being obnoxiously loud, and the staff were too shy to say anything. The rest of the guests were clearly irritated and displeased and most hot up and left. Other than this, the food was decent (we had the buffet breakfast and dinner included in our stay), the rooms were simple, but clean and spacious with a lovely mountain view, and the outdoor foot bath and private onsen were just great! I would return. Check out the pizza spot which is in walking distance, it was awesome.

Staff is friendly and helpful. We arrived early before check-in. We were able to drop-off our luggage at the hotel and explore the area. By the time for check-in, our luggages are already delivered to our room! We stayed in a condominium unit that is equipped with our private onsen! What a treat. However, the walk to the condominium building needs time to navigate. The buffet style breakfast had a great selection of both Japanese & western foods. Overall we had a great stay. Thank you.

Extremely relaxing
This property exceeded all expectations. We were lucky and got one of the standard double rooms facing the court yard. It was very quiet and peaceful. They encourage guest to wear the traditional bath ropes while in the property and it is hassle free to use the private onsen; we never had to wait (note: it was a quiet day during the week). Breakfast is included and so are complimentary snack and even alcoholic beverages after 7pm. Hoping to be able to come back soon.
