This was one of the nicest hostels I have stayed at, by far. Friendly staff, easy to get to from the centre (just a few stops on the U-Bahn from the city centre and then a bus. This sounds far but it's not, the Hamburg transit is fast and efficient). There is also a Lidl grocery store across the street. The breakfast was amazing, it competes with many hotel breakfasts I've had. The hostel has a nice lobby and lots of amenities (e.g. patio, roof terrace, computer, TV, vending machines, games room). The rooms were clean, with washbasins and tall lockers (you don't have to bring your own lock), but they may not fit a large suitcase. The showers and washrooms were fine, and everything was nice and clean. Just FYI you will need to buy an HI/DJH Hostels membership, but there are different options (1 night, 6 months, 1 year, Pay As You Go). My ONLY complaint was no WiFi in the rooms. I like to sit in bed and work and such, so this wasn't great, since sitting in the lobby to use the WiFi means a lot of background nice from the gamesroom. Also the internet didn't always stay connected that well. But overall the hostel was great, so that's not a big deal really. Thanks!
