At first the hotel is a few kilometers outside of Hanmer Springs via a dirtroad to reach, but architecturally of the finest - very large window fronts, private balcony terrace and really very large rooms, giant kingbed, gas fireplace and sofa. Great bathroom, with sophisticated double shower, but unfortunately unmaintained shower heads - they are clogged and shine instead of 90x only 6x and then it is not pleasant on the skin, but stings. This is now a matter of housekeeping to ensure functioning shower heads. Also great, check in at 13:00 was possible. Unfortunately it was not possible to book facial treatment until the next day at 10. We had the impression that it was a personal dislike to use the time from 13 to 14 o'clock [17.1.2019]. Dinner - good cooking (better than a year ago, when it was closed due to reconstruction) - but lousy service. Everywhere starter plates and even butter are covered at all tables, there are only 3 tables with us in the evening. The rest is allegedly delayed due to a flight delay. Kidding ! But we don't get any bread for the butter or any greeting from the kitchen - just nothing. Our ordered food and wines - so far good. Also we are offered a dessert - yes and that was it. They are really a big deal, they have a huge restaurant, a great view and they run a lot of staff on the level of farmers. Sorry, but that's the way it is. Whoever is the boss of this hotel, quit, take the staff with you ... sorry for - that´s my oppinion
