The location and convenience of this hotel for visiting JMU is unbeatable. We could walk all over campus and walk downtown. Hotel staff were friendly and service was excellent. If you are visiting JMU there really is no better choice.

Would have given this a higher rating, but mattress had some sort of liner under the sheets that made noise every time you moved. There was also some noise from passing trucks during the night. Complaints about the garage are overstated; it took me exactly 90 seconds to walk from the garage exit to the elevators! Nice selection of places to eat on the property,

What an ideal hotel for the parents of kids at JMU, or anyone in Harrisonburg, really. Beautiful property, ideal, location, friendly staff. Bed was only OK, as were the pillows, but everything else was so great that I’d still give it 4 or more stars.

The cleaning of the rooms is shockingly poor. By my third room move due to dirty counters, sinks and mold in tubs, I was extremely frustrated. While management was quick to offer a new room, they had trouble finding one clean enough. Seems like a basic requirement of a hotel room would be cleanliness, do better Hotel Madison.
