This property is very clean and a prime location on the JMU campus. The staff we encountered were all very friendly, helpful and kind. We will definitely be staying at Hotel Madison whenever we visit JMU.

It smelled of perfume from the moment you entered the front door. It was hard to breathe The room stunk just as bad and the bathroom was mildew and mold stink Very dusty room the lamp shades the light switches all dusty and dirty The smell was horrendous and didn’t cover the moldy bathroom smells You can see the black mold around the tub and the shower curtain was disgusting and mildewed. Don’t stay here

My wife and I stayed here overnight en route from Charlotte, NC to Philadelphia. For our summertime stay (James Madison not yet in session), our stay was a great value. This is a very comfortable, high quality hotel.
