we liked the age and the character of the property and the new editions were sympathetically done. The setting with the view of the downs was marvellous

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
Nice location. Parking easy. Comfortable bed.
Did Not Like - Instructions for coffee machine not clear so had to get a kettle from reception.
TV aerial had to be plugged in as had been removed.
Shower floor was very slippery. I ended up with a bad cut on my toe. Needs a mat as an option.
Check out time different from Expedia advert.
There was nothing not to like! The property was awesome and the staff were fantastic. They even treated our dog like royalty! The restaurant food was outstanding.
The B&B is perfectly located in the countryside, and 20 min away from the seaside. The staff were excellent and very attentive. The dinner was delicious, in the veranda area at the summer night. The only negative point was the noise from a large party taking place in the venue. Our room was very close to the party and we had to endure the loud music until 23:30. The B&B should have made us aware of the noise issue at booking.
Liked the fact that this property was dog friendly, with treats, water and a place to put bags outside. Room was really clean & liked the Nespresso coffee machine & also availability of having a separate kettle as well.
Night security/porter being onsite was very good also.
It was a shame that when we left that they tried to charge us for the room when we'd paid on Expedia & £20 for our small dog when we'd confirmed via email this should be £15. We also realised later that we had not received our free bottle of sparkling wine as advertised.
Great inn with a nice restaurant. Rooms could use updating. Our bedroom window had no sheer curtains and the room was right over the beer garden during hot weather so we wanted the window and curtains open for air but the people down below could see right in our room and we could hear all their conversation. Water pressure and temperature frequently changed during the shower.
I booked after looking for somewhere to stay for a training course in Brighton the next day. I arrived late in the evening and was greeted by the friendly, helpful team. The room itself was very clean and well laid out. The team were equally friendly and helpful the next morning. Breakfast was easy to arrange as an add on, plenty of choice, good quality and well presented. The hotel has a fantastic surrounding, right next to the national park and very easy links to the surrounding area. All in, a very positive experience and definitely worth a visit.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
The location of the property is beautiful and great for hikers, The staff were helpful , polite and friendly. The rooms comfortable and clean.
We had upgraded for a hill view room through Expedia , but was disappointed we got a garden view room which was the cheaper option. Secondly there is no other options with breakfast, it’s either you have full English or toast with pot of tea you still pay the full price which I believe is unfair.
Overall we had a very comfortable stay. Would come back again.
We stayed 2 nights with our son and his girlfriend for his graduation.
The welcome, service and awareness from Lauren and the team were excellent.
The ambience was ideal, from our charming original beamed room, to the sympathetic new decking terrace where we enjoyed a good dinner.
Breakfast food and service was excellent, responding generously to all we asked for, offering very good value
Only slight quibble is the shower and mirror in our low-ceilinged period room were not optimised for taller people ( I am 6'2").
