Waterfront home on gorgeous Lake Chatuge!

Our 4 bedroom, 3 bath home offers plenty of space for gatherings of family and friends. With two bedrooms on the main level and two additional bedrooms in the spacious walk out basement, the house sleeps up to 8 people. Fresh, modern decor, new furnishings (including Tuft & Needle mattresses) and a fully stocked kitchen are just a few of the amenities you will enjoy. The master bedroom overlooks the lake and features a king sized bed, luxurious bedding, a flat screen television and a private bathroom with walk in shower and freestanding tub. Bedrooms 2 & 3 feature queen sized beds and shared bathrooms, while lakeside bedroom 4 is home to two twin sized beds. All bedrooms are designed with maximum comfort in mind and feature 400 thread count sheets, down comforters and linen or organic duvets.

The vaulted main living area centers around a wood burning fireplace and is a perfect spot to get cozy with a book, cup of tea or loved one. Dawn and dusk are best enjoyed from the covered back deck, which overlooks the lake and is home to a gas grill for outdoor feasts. An open kitchen with huge island offers additional seating for dining and is an inviting space in which to cook, gather and relax. The spacious dining room is perfect for family style suppers and breakfasts and offers plenty of space to spread out and work - if you must - while you are here. The basement family room is where the indoor entertainment reigns... A large screen TV, ping pong table and spacious sectional sofa beckon leisure time after a day on the lake or exploring north Georgia; pull out a board game, borrow a book -- or sign in & enjoy your Netflix account - for a cozy evening in. Cable TV and WiFi are available throughout the home. Wake up to coffee on the back deck, and spend your days swimming, boating, kayaking or fishing on the lake. And bring your marshmallows and enjoy cool evenings by the outdoor fire pit overlooking the lake!

Our home is located within minutes of Hiawassee, so groceries and gas are always close by. The small established neighborhood is quiet, and most of our neighbors are part-time residents, so if you are looking for peace and quiet, you have found it. Have a boat? Tie up to our private boat dock! No boat? Enjoy one of our kayaks or the Bellyak or just throw a line in the water from the swim deck. Boat rentals are available near by for the day and half-day - we encourage you to rent one and explore all the nooks and crannies of beautiful Lake Chatuge.

Miscellaneous details: Parking is provided for two to three cars. The home is fully heated & air conditioned and linens/towels are provided. About us: We are a family of four and are full time residents of Asheville, NC. We fell in love with Lake Chatuge over the course of several years of camping and vacation rental stays. We took the leap to create a property of our own in 2017 with the dream of building something beautiful, functional and comfortable for us to enjoy with our young daughters, extended family and friends now and for years to come. We are delighted to share it with you.

Hiawassee & N. Georgia:
This area of Georgia is known for its mountains and lakes. Opportunities to hike, fish, swim and mountain bike are abundant. The Appalachian Trail passes through Hiawassee, which is a quaint town with sweet local shops and restaurants. We love this area for it's scenic natural beauty, slower pace of life and multitude of outdoor opportunities. It's truly a wonderful place to get away from it all!

Perfect for family weekend getaway
Very spacious house, well laid out and very comfortable. We made several meals in the well equipped kitchen which was great, even had a large dining room table to enjoy. Ping-pong table in the basement was a big hit! Weather was also good enough to still enjoy the lake, (paddle boarding and kayaking) and even though the lake level is down for the winter, you could still easily access it from the end of the dock.

This was a great location, peaceful and quiet. The house was lovely, with more than enough for the four of us. The host was very responsive and helpful about informing us of various locations and activities that would interest us. The house was located by a large lake, which had great fishing.

Fantastic Family Vacation!
We called it Lake Escape 2024, but we also could call it Fantastic! This rental provided everything we needed for grandparents, kids and toddler grandkids. We’ve stayed in a lot of vacation rentals, but never one so thoughtfully and thoroughly stocked—dish liquid, laundry supplies, all linens including lake towels, hand soaps, toilet tissue, paper towels, etc.—and not just sample or starter sizes! Although we brought kayaks and lake toys/floats from home, the house offers that too! Roomy, tastefully decorated spaces inside gave us areas to be together, but also areas to chill out and nap. We made good use of the fire pit and daily use of the dock. We all had such a good time. One of the grandsons said it best—“We come back here soon?”

Beautiful home
Beautiful, comfortable home to spend a few days with our college-age kids on their fall break. It was a bit chilly out, so we didn’t really take advantage of the lake unfortunately. The house was very clean and all the beds were super comfy! We will definitely consider staying here again if we find ourselves in the area.

Girls Trip
We are a group of 7 retired ladies from Florida looking for an escape from the Florida’s summer heat. This beautiful home was the perfect base for our hikes, wine tastings, lake activities, board games, etc. Everyone in the group loved the house and its beautiful decor. We enjoyed the easy access to the lake via the home’s private dock. The dock also made a fun spot for the group’s morning Pilates workout.

Perfect family vacation
Our family can usually find something to complain about at any of the lake houses we stay at, but we are at a loss this time! This house was perfect for us! We had concerns about the dock being across the road, but we rarely saw a vehicle on it and it was a quick walk from the house. Even though there's no TV in the main living area, there is a speaker you can connect to to play your favorite playlists and we spent mornings singing along to songs while cooking breakfast and our evenings playing games. There is a tv downstairs with a big couch so you can still have family movie night. The dock is in a nice cove so you can swim and kayak right next to it, but also close to open lake for boating and tubing. All in all, this was one of our best vacating yet!

Super Lake Home
This is the second time we are here and just love the house and location. House has great amenities with lots of space for everyone to sleep and enjoy their stay. This home has a boat dock so we were able to rent a boat at Boundary Waters Marina and were able to bring the boat to the house. Quiet cove to hang out on the dock. We would rent here again!!

Perfect cottage lake house
This house and property were exactly as promised! Everything was so beautiful and well kept. We absolutely loved the back patio area and also the fire pit we used most nights. The dock was perfect for the boat we rented and Lake Chatuge is stunning! We will definitely be back to this wonderful modern cottage!

The house was perfect - open, airy, clean, well-stocked, beautifully decorated, comfortable. Such easy access to the lake. My son said that he "wants to leave there"! Just be careful to not lock yourselves out on the upstairs balcony/deck!

We truly enjoyed this property… Great location and the house was beautiful….
It was a great property but the downstairs was extremely cold… The temperature had gone down to 0 degrees and it took forever to get the downstairs temperature to 70 degrees… But overall we truly enjoyed this property and would rent it again…

Great house with great dock and beautiful lake
The house was perfect for what we needed, a weekend getaway for my husband and our two kids and another family and their one boy. The kids all had the downstairs area and the four adults had the upstairs. The house is beautiful and very clean. The lake access was perfect, not too many steps. The dock was great, and the owners were super responsive and very nice. The only thing we were missing was a boat, which we will likely look into renting next time! Thank you for having us!

Beautiful Bare-minimum lake house
The house is gorgeous, the location is great and the lake cove beautiful. However we nicknamed the house bare-minimum, none of the 4 bedrooms have dressers (having to live out of our luggage of the floor giving it the feel of hostel stay) all the furniture and decor is very bare-minimum, giving the stay a cold vague vibe, not cozy or homey at all.

The house is in great condition and with all modern amenities. The dock which is not directly on the property is a great place for watching sunset! The layout inside home is perfect for fun downstairs with ping pong and TV and couches. The upstairs and porch is perfect for downtime and hanging out for all the lake views.

Great Lake House!
Had a great time at this property! Very clean & nice! Well stocked! The property owner was very accommodating! The checking in and out was very simple very well set up! The only One issue we had was needed a little more space in the room by the kitchen the fireplace area the couch & chair are not real comfortable and not enough for six people! Other than that simply great I would stay there again!

The perfect place to get away!
This house is the the perfect place to get away. The pictures don’t do it justice. From looking in the front door out to the back at the lake. The house is decorated simply but classic. The kitchen is fully stocked so that you can cook any meal. The stove is induction so took a little to get used too but no problem. Tanya gives good directions on how to use it in a notebook she made with helpful information about the house. Washer and dryer were AWSOME especially when you use so many towels. The covered dock was perfect for our boat rental along with the use of the 2 kayaks that are part of the house. It was nice that the kayaks are kept locked up down at the dock so that you don’t have carry them up and down. All the bedrooms and bathrooms were very clean and the beds were comfortable. Loved the master bath walk in shower. It was easy to take care of this home as it were my own. If your looking for a perfect get away this is it!

Lakefront Property
This property is right on the lake with access to Lake Chatuge. We rented a boat from Boundary Waters Marina (suggested by the host) and they were absolutely wonderful. We were able to dock our boat at the house site which made it easy everyday to get on the boat and have fun. There are kayaks, tubes, and fishing poles available at the house, This house is designed for outdoor lake fun!!!! Lake access is from the lower level with towels hung up at the door. There is even a fire pit for family gatherings which we also used. We ate all our meals on the outside deck and played lots of board games out there too. The kitchen is fully stocked with lots of cookware. We loved the kitchen access to the deck. The entire house is spotless and perfectly decorated for lake fun. We will definitely rent this house again next year. All of our kids loved the space and didn't want to leave. This house is also centrally located with grocery only 4 miles away and Boundary Waters Marina only 5 miles away. Perfect location!!!!!

Wonderful private home surrounded by woods and easy access to the dock. Well stocked kitchen with a large dinning table for family meals. The only thing I would change would be to add a TV in the upstairs living room.

A wonderful place to relax
The property was clean and actually nicer in person than the photos on VRBO. We loved the house layout, the peaceful dock, comfortable beds, and the fire pit. Location is a quick few minutes into Hiawassee where we grabbed groceries to grill on the very nice deck at the lake house.
