A cosy one bedroom apartment upstairs at the rear of our heritage listed property with contemporary furnishings and appliances.

Beautifully presented and recently refurbished with great views to Mt Wellington and the Cascade Brewery. It has a fully equipped designer kitchen and luxury king size bed.

The apartment has a gas heater and double glazing for even temperature & noise reduction.

To relax the apartment has a 37" High def LCD TV with digital tuner and DVD player.

Complimentary welcome first morning breakfast pack including Coffee, Tea, Cereal, milk and bread and spreads provided.

To keep in touch free Wifi Broadband is available on request. The service is always available for standard email and browsing but is not suitable for gaming nor downloading large volumes.

Facilities include a fully equipped kitchen, dishwasher, shower and hair dryer, on site laundry and one car park.

Portable cot and baby chair are also available on request.

Upper Davey Street historic precinct

Toogooloowa 3 is superbly located at the quiet end of Davey Street with an easy 1.8 km walk down to the Hobart CBD, Salamanca and the waterfront or to the University of Tas.

It is situated among the grand old heritage homes of upper Davey St just a short stroll along historic garden lined streets to South Hobart's shops and restaurants to the Cascade brewery and the Hobart Rivulet walk.

This self contained apartment is the perfect home away from home. Suitable for short or longer stays all at a very reasonable tariff.

If you are considering a sea-change and moving to Tasmania or visiting UTAS for a summer school or semester special arrangements can be made for longer stays.

This apartment is upstairs at the rear of Toogoolowa a beautiful heritage listed Victorian mansion which surrounds the original colonial 2 room cottage built as the first dwelling in the area during the early 1800s and the Georgian extension that was built over and around the cottage some years later.

Visitors are welcome to smell the roses, share and relax in the huge wild garden with splendid views to Mount Wellington at the rear of Toogooloowa.

Great location
This property is in a good area and is walking distance to great cafes and shops in south Hobart. Small unit with one bedroom and lounge/kitchen area. Bedding was fantastic. Huge garden to look out on plus views to Mt Wellington. We have booked again.

John was a wonderful host. Was available by phone or message for anything needed. Very responsive. The apartment had everything you need. Clean new kitchen. The bathroom was clean with a great shower and the bed was very comfortable. The property is a short walk to town. We will definitely be back.

Great Holiday Place
Small and cozy place for two young adults to come back home to. Walking distance to shops, the city and other activity locations. Very helpful that the place had a stove, oven and other kitchen appliances, not having to always rely on take away food or going out; could make our own meals! As well as a provided washing and drying machine for washing clothes before taking off home. Overall, highly recommend the place for anyone wanting a place to stay! :) 10/10

Do not stay here!!!
This property is in steep decline. It is filthy with cobwebs along the ceiling, a bathroom fan clogged with lint, broken window shade, and sad broken down furniture. The walls are cracked; the manager said the house was historic, and oh, the painters will come in two weeks. The manager did not know we were coming. He gave us four pieces of bread wrapped in Saran for breakfast for five days’ stay. We looked for a nice place to stay, leaving after two nights (two nights too many) figuring our last three nights rent was a loss. We loved Hobart and are so glad we ditched this dump. Did I say, don’t stay here? We saw a rating sheet on a subsequent rental unit that defined “one star” as a place that should not be platformed. This place earns that one-star rating.

Phoned to advise check in time as requested and they had forgotten we were coming and couldn't find the booking for about 5 minutes. Lack of sharing of information about how things worked or about laundry facilities available. None of the windows would open at all. Parking was not well arranged. Was left breakfast but very poor choice of cereal available.

Gorgeous private residence with all needed amenities
I stayed here for a week, and found everything to be amazing. Not the newest building, but if you value privacy and the ability to cook you own meals while still being within walking distance of the CBD and anywhere that you might need to meet up for tours, this is absolutely the place to stay. John was lovely, and helped to ensure my stay was as stress-free as possible!

Toogooloowa Davey 5 was an older building with great views to Mt Wellington over the red brick homes and churches. There were chooks in the garden, roses blooming and a light dusting of snow on Mt Wellington.

Room has been fitted with modern amenities but the shell is in disrepair. Parking is a difficult manoeuvre for all cars on the property. Always good to get back first. Jason was quickly on site and very helpful with a few issues we had. Thank you Jason. Would have liked a larger fridge but I think space for this was an issue. Hope you like stairs.

Nice, clean and just a little quirky
Great little 3 room apartment (bathroom/toilet, kitchenette/dining/lounge and separate bedroom). Scrupulously clean. Great wi-fi with no drop-outs over 5 day stay. Huge property with loads of off-street parking. Blissful and very green backyard with a small flock of heritage breed chickens. Was also paid a visit by a wild rabbit that hopped across the yard and then stopped to nibble the grass. Apartment had lovely views north of the hills around Hobart. Quite close to CBD/Salamanca (20 mins on foot) and even closer to groovy Hill Street Grocer (5 mins), a nice little laundrette (The Lost Sock - also 5 mins) and two liquor outlets (10 mins). Would definitely stay there again. Not traditional 5 star accomm, but if you’re the type who is looking for that style, then you just wouldn’t understand a quirky place like this anyhow.

Authentic Hobart, cosy and quiet, great location, amazing views in historic building.
Personally welcomed by the helpful Hobartian owner. Free off-street parking a few minutes drive from the city centre on Davey St in historic South Hobart. Stunning view of Mt Wellington and beautiful country garden with resident family of cute little kangaroos (the owner explained these were bettongs?). Cosy and quiet fully self-contained private room with modern appliances including microwave, stove and pans, fridge (stocked with fresh bread and milk!), dishwasher, kettle, electric heater and TV. On-site laundry with washer and dryer. Great sleep in comfortable bed. Authentic Hobart experience close to the city and transport links, so much better than a hotel, book a stay here (if you are lucky enough to find a vacancy!)

A modest 2 room apartment located in what was a larger grand residence. Well equipped new kitchen makes self catering easy, as does location to local small supermarkets. Upstairs room provided nice views of garden and Mt Wellington. Handy to bus routes and a walkable distance to CBD. I have been a satisfied user on a number of occasions
