A stylish eclectic apartment with contemporary furnishings and appliances offset against a tribal theme with textiles, chairs and stools from Ethiopia, African sculpture, textiles and a little flavour of Africa.

Beautifully presented and recently refurbished ground floor 1 bedroom / studio apartment with fully equipped designer kitchen and luxury king size bed which can be separated to make comfortable twin single beds.

To keep things cozy the apartment has in floor heating, double glazing for an even temperature & noise reduction and leather lounge.

To relax the apartment has a 37" High def LCD TV with digital tuner and DVD player.

Complimentary welcome first morning light breakfast pack including Coffee, Tea, Cereal, milk and bread and spreads provided for the first night.


To keep in touch free Wifi Broadband is available on request.
The service is always available for standard email and browsing but is not suitable for gaming nor downloading large volumes.

Facilities include a fully equipped kitchen, dishwasher, bath and hair dryer, on site laundry and one car park.

Upper Davey Street historic precinct

Toogooloowa 3 is superbly located at the quiet end of Davey Street with an easy 1.8 km walk down to the Hobart CBD, Salamanca and the waterfront or to the University of Tas.

It is situated among the grand old heritage homes of upper Davey St just a short stroll along historic garden lined streets to South Hobart's shops and restaurants to the Cascade brewery and the Hobart Rivulet walk.

This self contained apartment is the perfect home away from home. Suitable for short or longer stays all at a very reasonable tariff.

This apartment occupies the ground floor of the stables in the grounds of Toogoolowa a beautiful heritage listed Victorian mansion which surrounds the original colonial 2 room cottage built as the first dwelling in the area during the early 1800s and the Georgian extension that was built over and around the cottage some years later.

Visitors are welcome to smell the roses, share and relax in the huge wild garden with splendid views to Mount Wellington at the rear of Toogooloowa.

We enjoyed our stay at Toogooloowa. Great location. The studio apartment was very clean and spacious had everything we needed and was lovely and quiet. Also off street parking is a bonus. I will definitely stay there again.

We loved our time at 309 Davey St, South Hobart. This Heritage listed accommodation was actually a farm. The B & B where we stayed has been converted from old stables. It is clean, roomy, and welcoming. With full kitchen, bedroom area and bathroom. There's also a washing machine and clothes dryer facility. Quiet and Relaxing
The apartment was very spacious, tidy, and quiet. We loved seeing the wildlife and feeding the chickens. The area was interesting and close to lots of tourism places of interest. We enjoyed nice long walks every night as the surrounding area had lots of historic buildings we like looking at.

Great place to stay for a last minute trip to Hobart with my mum. Property was very clean and roomy, a lovely place to stay. Really nice cafe 5 mins walk away. The host was very friendly and helpful. Would recommend it to others. Only concern was that the website was not accurate in the description, advertised it as a triple sleeping room, only in the fine print did it say 1 kingsized bed. The host said there should have been an option for 2 single beds, but there wasnt! It meant my mum and i had share!

Furnishings and bed very comfortable. Kitchen well equiped. Has a fan and heater. Garden is large but needs to be better maintained at back if you want to walk around it. No window to open but sliding door with screen for air flow in daytime. Council restrictions on displaying their sign. Number difficult to see from road for taxi and Uber. Efforts to maintain this grand ‘old lady’ are hampered by shortage of tradesmen skilled in maintenance of historical buildings. John must at times be very concerned for Toogooloowa’s future. We only hope his efforts are rewarded.

Nice little apartment in Hobart
This comfortable studio apartment is situated on a beautiful heritage property with so much potential to be realised when the current renovations are completed. The beautiful garden with the group of friendly chickens was so lovely to wander through and will be spectacular when the work is complete. With The big comfy bed and cozy underfloor heating we slept so well for the first few nights, until the top floor was rented out. I don’t think the owner realises how noisy it is when some one is upstairs. We barely slept until the upstairs neighbors checked out. But all in all the apartment is in a lovely area very central to all Hobart has to offer. Would stay again.

Very enjoyable
Very pleasant longer stay at Tooloogoowa on Davey 3 which was very clean and was well appointed. Quiet, spacious, had a real kitchen, and provided support when sought. The secluded and sheltered garden table was lovely for lunches. Need to be careful when parking, but otherwise really handy for local, city and Sandy Bay visits, without the bustle inherent from staying in town.
