"Olimme täällä yhden yön, tarkoituksena kiertää Anuradhapuran temppeleitä. Sijainti oli syrjässä keskustasta, mutta saavuimme vasta illallisen jälkeen ja lähdimme heti aamupalan jälkeen, joten sijainti ei haitannut. Temppelit on niin laajalla alueella, että niiden kiertämiseen tarvitsee joka tapauksessa jonkun kulkupelin. Tämä paikka järjesti meille auton ja kuljettajan. Huoneessa piti olla yksi iso ja yksi tavallinen parisänky. Molemmat olivat samankokoisia, suomalaisen parisängyn kokoluokkaa. Otimme lisämaksusta aamiaisen. Siihen kuului nakkeja, paahtoleipää ja omeletti. Rakennus oli jo nähnyt jo parhaat päivänsä ja se oli aika yksinkertainen. Huone oli kuitenkin siisti."
