Terrible customer service
I was traveling alone to the United States to have a surgery. Shortly after placing this booking I realized it would not work for me. The biggest problem is that it was not close enough to my doctors office. Within a few minutes of me receiving the exact location and running the directions on it to see how far it was from my doctors I realized it was too far to walk. I immediately contacted the host and VRBO. I explained to them the situation and that I had just made the reservation 15 minutes ago. They both refused to refund my money per their policy. I ended up staying elsewhere. To this day I still have not received a refund.The homeowner is not managing their rental. They have a third-party doing it. He, the third party, was quite stern about the no refund. When I told him I would not actually be staying there his tone did change a little bit. Then and now he keeps telling me that he will speak to the owner when they get back from spring break. To this day, I have not received a refund. I understand a no refund policy. However, I think there should be exceptions if it is within 15 minutes, not under 1/2 mile from where it is pinned on the map, and the person is actually booking the location for proximity to a specific medical facility. I hosted/rented several of my properties for many years. I believe that customer service is number one!
