Perfect for my holiday

Pros: It's location was perfect for the cycle trips I wanted to do. Very clean and well appointed modern rooms with excellent plumbing.
Location: Plenty of places to eat/drink. Muiderslot/Muiden, Narden Vesting, Spakenburg within reasonable cycling distance. Slot Zuylen & Utrecht is good too.
The room was perfect for my needs and with very good and clean shower-room/WC.The rooms are modern, clean and air-conditioned in architecture more reminiscent of New England than Dutch style. I didn't try the restaurant; there are other eateries in the complex and in Huizen (Oude Dorp). There are bikes to hire which is the best way to get around depending on how far you want to stray from Huizen - but I took my own and visited many of the local towns. If you're wanting to go further afield by train you'll need to drive/bus into a nearby town like Naarden/Bussum from where there are good links to Amsterdam and other towns/cities such as Utrecht and Amersfoort (both have amazing towers). Parking in centres just isn't worth bothering with. Everyone is very friendly and almost all speak excellent English.

Hübsches Hotel direkt am Jachthafen

Pros: Das Frühstück
Cons: Fernseher mit einem Abschaltmechsnismus versehen, wenn Gäste vor dem Fernseher einschlafen und nebenliegende Zimmer dadurch gestört werden.
Location: Das Hotel ist wunderschon gelegen, man hat aber schnell alles gesehen. Für Unternehmenslustige lohnt die Fahrt nach Amsterdam.
Der Ort Huizen ist recht unspektakulär. Der Hafen, an dem das Hotel liegt, ist jedoch eine Oase. Das Hotel ist o.k. - alles sauber, nettes Personal, gutes Frühstück - sehr umfangreich. Es ist jedoch sehr hellhörig. In der Nacht wurden wir mehrmals wach, weil andere Hotelgäste zurückkamen, oder die ganze Nacht das Fernsehen laufen ließen. Schön ist auch die Nähe zu Amsterdam.
