Mixed Feelings
Definitely secluded and quiet with a game room that my family loved while preparing Thanksgiving dinner. However, the issues I had would not have been so bad had they not all occurred in a single stay. 1. I arrived late as I was coming from 3 hours away on a work day. When I arrived, the cleaning crew was still there without notifying me that they were running late. This was at 7:30pm. But, the home was clean, with the exception of the light fixtures. 2. There were no more than a few hand towels out for use. The rest of the towels were in the washer and dryer. Because I wanted clean towels, I decided to go ahead and wash them. The washer was not working. After some trouble shooting, I noticed that the water valves were shut. I opened the valves and the hot water connection was leaking on the washer end. I tried contacting the local host and had to leave a message. He never got back to me (this was the first night of a 3 night stay). I ended up turning off the hot water and washed them in cold water with extra laundry soap that was provided. It was a very long night just to wait for towels. 3. It is that time of year that the lady bugs are seeking shelter. There were so many in the master bedroom that I left the ceiling light and fan off most of the time, for fear that they would land on the bed more. 4. The dishwasher still had dirty dishes from the previous guests. There is more, but I ran out of space. The host didn't answer texts either. So much for 24/7.
