The Retreat is close to downtown Idaho Falls (10 Miles), yet far enough to get off the beaten path (like a gazillion miles away). Whether you are staying with us for a night or a week, we hope you are ready to relax, rewind, unplug and simply go “Off the Grid” for a bit.
Views…Views…Views! While at the retreat, you could witness one of the most amazing sunrises you’ve ever seen by catching the views and brilliance of the Grand Tetons or take in awe-inspiring sunsets with the lost River Ranges on the horizon. You can use our retreat as your base camp, to visit local family and friends. Take in local events, concerts, or restaurants. During winter you can enjoy skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing at Kelly Canyon, Jackson Hole, or Grand Targhee. Or take a quick trip and dip into Heise Hot Springs or head out for regional attractions, Island Park, Swan Valley, Yellowstone National Park to name a few.
The Panoramic Rustic Retreat is powered by the “Mr. Fusion Home Energy Reactor” AKA a fully integrated solar system, battery bank, and backup generator. The Mr. Fusion home reactor generates the needed 1.21 gigawatts of power through the Flux Capacitor to enable a direct sync up with the Starlink mothership (internet). All jokes aside, we do our best to conserve power where we can, because we are not connected to the electrical grid.
When the battery bank gets to ~20% the Automatic Generator Start will kick on and charge the bank back up to 100% and turn off.
During a sunny day the solar system charges the bank to 100%, when it is cloudy, snowy day, the solar system is not fully charging, and in some cases the generator will kick on to charge the batteries.
