This log cabin was beautifully constructed and well-laid out with excellent furnishings and amenities. There were many extra bonuses such as a large garage with two coolers and camp chairs inside for guests’ use. There were little alarm clocks, night lights, many condiments and baking ingredients left from previous guests, comprehensive, good quality pots, pans, dishes, glasses, cooking utensils, etc., modern kitchen appliances, large washer and dryer, plenty (spongy) pillows and extra blankets and modern kitchen appliances. The coffee pot uses ground coffee. There was plenty of dish detergent and a little laundry detergent. The heating was efficient and instant with thermostats in every room. We weren’t able to get the gas-fired corner fireplace to work. The only items we can recommend would possibly be a second bedside table and lamp for the downstairs bedroom and one or two bedside tables and lamps for the upstairs enclosed bedroom. There was one bedside table with a lamp in-between the two loft bed. A privacy curtain or blind would be nice for the kitchen window and perhaps the loft. We had three fiber optic installers peering into the kitchen window and working outside of it from 8am for a couple of hours one morning but of course that would be a rare occurance.
The cabin was roughly 20mi. from the W. Yellowstone gate to the park so it was a bit far from there, to make that round trip daily. But the local restaurant, “Connie’s”, nearby and a treat. The cabin is set off the main highway a couple of miles or so, on the corner of the lightly traveled road that leads to it and a short dead-end lane. There was a small RV trailer parked out back, leveled with its slide out extended but there was evidence of inhabitants using it only one night out of our six, and they made zero noise.
A $______ damage insurance policy was somehow added to our charges which I didn’t see until later. I’m not sure if it was mandatory or optional, but I don’t appreciate it. Communications were good between the property management company but it did take 24 to 48 hours to receive responses to a couple of questions, such as is there a hair dryer provided. The answer was probably not (there was one) or was the water good to drink (probably, but they recommend bottled water anyway - the water seems fine, no discoloration, no bad taste, and icy cold.)
