Its stated free parking it isn't. We have to park 2km away from the hotel. I booked for double bed which can fit 3pax and from the picture theres sofa bed .. but got twin bed instead with no sofa paid extra for nothing. Stated blacon with city view. But we get no balcon with full of wall blocking our window. And sound proofed stated?? But i can hear next door taking shower with their tv on! No water were given in the room.. must ask and they only give us a bottle of 500ml. That's it! The drinking glass is dirty never washed! The toilet smell of sewage. And when ask for things.. the grumpy old women will give you the looked. They said wifi password in the room.. which we can't find any. Checked in at 9pm.. and ask for late check out, not available..(disapointed) Breakfast was so simple.. nothing extra.. not even extra drinks. Not even juice or fresh milk for my 3years old son. Very sleazy hotel.

Close to Sofia, blue mosque , metro and cistern .
The hotel was below my expectations . Molds around the tub.Shower head leaking and were told that it will be repaired but never happened, TV didn't even worked. No telephone in room so you go down to desk to ask for toilet paper etc. staff 95 % of them didn't speak English. Food handling was unsanitary we ended up with GI problems. Wished Expedia see these places before you book your customers.

Nice people but outdated hotel
While the hotel was in a great area, this hotel is outdated and needs help. I was there the end of October when the weather was cool. THe room they gave me had a draft. I complained that the heat was not working. The nice man at the front desk came to turn it on, but it never worked. At midnight I called the front desk, but no one answered so I put on every stich of clothing I owned. At 4 a.m. I went down to the front desk to wake up a man for a new room. He gave me a thin comforter and told me to check with the front desk in the morning. I did, and was given a room with a heater that eventually worked, but this was after trying about 6 rooms. The front desk people were nice, but when I asked for a refund, was told that I must contact the booking agency I used. THis hotel is in a great neighborhood, and has wonderful people, but if it is cold, I don't recommend staying here. The rooms are small and my rooms had a building backing up to them with no view at all.

The Best of Everything.
As a disabled man on holiday this hotel was perfect, The Basilica Cistern is a 30 second walk, The Hagia Sofya and the Topkapi Palace are across the road. The Blue Mosque is a 5 minute walk, you get the picture, everything is on the doorstep. The food in the Ares Hotel is excellent, try the Turkish and Ottoman menu, you will be pleasantly surprised, also the Turkish breakfast is first class. I was given help with everything. The Ares Hotel is not the biggest or the most famous but it's the hotel that I will go back to because it is friendly, central, good food and very helpful, why pay more. I am looking forward to my next visit to Istanbul and my stay in The Ares Hotel, Sultanahmet.

super nice staff. amazing location. good breakfast. beds were adequate but had stiff sheets and limited blanket. rooms are quite small, but if all your doing is sleeping it is adequate.

Very local to tourist spots. Many restaurants in area. Staff was great and tried their English skills. The room had not been swept well and the bed cover not clean but sheets were clean. Good breakfast. Over all the hotel was great and I would stay there again.

Perfect Location!
You can't find a better location than this for tourism. Literally steps from the Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, and Basillica Cistern. Short walk or tram ride (the T1 is right outside the door) to the Grand Bazzar, The Golden Bridge, and many ferry terminals. The staff are all friendly and go out of their way to take care of you. From the airport, you can take the M1a line to the T1 line and ride transit all the way to the hotel for 8 Lira.

Great service from a little great Hotel.
As soon as I arrived the staff delivered great service. They helped me with my bags and showed me around the hotel. They gave me information of the hotel, the neighborhood, and the city of Istanbul. The room was clean and spacious and they have restaurant on top of hotel with a breathtaking view of Istanbul. The stay was enjoyable and the staff was amazing.

Hotel rooms and bathrooms very small but staff friendly and helpful. Excellent central location literally minutes from Blue Mosque, cistern, Ayasofia and Topkapi Palace. Also very close to transport, restaurants and park. Within easy walking distance of Grand and spice bazaars.

Great budget hotel
The hotel room was small but clean and it is very close to all the major sites. The walls are not very sound proof but the clientele seems to be respectful of that. It is located on a side so only street foot traffic occurs. The staff speaks minimal English but are very friendly. I enjoyed waking to the morning prayers broadcasted over loud speakers from the mosques. There are no alarm clocks in the rooms so bring your own.
