Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Neorion. The location was excellent and convenient especially if you want to take the light rail around town or walk to the mosques in Sultanahmet. For us, it was a quick five minute walk to the ferry in Eminonu which you can take to Kadikoy (if you need to get to SAW airport). The hotel is also only a ten minute walk to Galata Bridge to cross over into Beyoğlu where we found better shopping and restaurants. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful, from the front desk to house keeping. The breakfast is very good and convenient including excellent coffee and fresh squeezed orange juice and other juices. Also. you gotta try the honeycomb for fresh honey! Delightful touch and delicious!
What we didn’t like was the bed sheets (too scratchy and stiff), the bathroom sink’s poor hot water pressure (Room 405), and the awful hairdryer which would overheat after only 20 seconds of use on high (no joke). My wife would have to wait 3-4 minutes each time to allow the hairdryer to cool off, which was beyond annoying. We asked for a new hairdryer but were told they all act like that so any replacement would be pointless. My advice to management is invest in better hairdryers. It may seem like a trifle, but the little things matter and not easily forgotten.
Finally, the pool and hammam in the basement are quite lovely, but it would be nice if there was better lighting and if the sauna could open before 14:00 hours.
