Nice Authentic Family Hotel

Excellent hotel, hospitable staff

Tash Konak is at a great location, within easy walking distance to most of the sights. Rooms are comfortable and clean. All staff we encountered spoke good English and are extremely helpful and friendly. E.g. they remembered our room number without asking, and offered free use of their phone when our mobile signal kept breaking down. There is also a very cute and sociable cat. Would go back next time and recommend without reservation!

pretty good overall

I chose the hotel because it was relatively cheap and because of the location. Hotel prices are high in Istanbul and this hotel proved to be a fairly good choice. The room was clean (though the toilet bowl was dirty when I arrived) and the room was of a good size. It was also bright and airy and the decor was well-maintained. I was very close to the attractions and some good restaurants. The only negative thing I can say is that the call to prayers was very loud and so I would get woken up at dawn. The walls are really thin so I could hear doors slamming and people talking in the corridor. Apart from the latter, this hotel was a great place to stay.

Just what we had hoped for.

We appreciated the hotel transport meeting us at the airport and taking us to the door, otherwise it might have been difficult to find. Wonderfully welcoming, helpful staff; very clean if quite small rooms, and hot showers. Quiet on the garden side. Breakfast was a feast to suit all tastes. Warm evenings on the roof terrace were magical with views across the Bospherous and Sea of Marmara. Being in the old quarter of the city, it was only a five minute walk to everything a visitor wants to see and the tram line is close for exploration further afield. The only minor fault was the main stair carpet, which was in need of a good clean....but our visit was at the end of a long busy season. We will certainly be going back for another stay at the Tash Konack.

Great Locationfor Sultanhamet attractions

Great location, very friendly and helpful staff. Allocated room was in main block - rear rooms have no view, street facing rooms better. Hallways and stairs need refurbishments - looked dark and tired. Two adjacent buildings appeared better furnished, but not in deal. Breakfast - omelette and cold boiled eggs with cereals and continental items, adequate. All in all good deal and ideal location for main tourist spots and access to trams. Would go again!!

Great location, friendly & helpful staff

Hotel is in relatively quiet street a short walk (10 minutes) from Blue Mosque. We found the staff very helpful, arranging airport shuttle, Bosporus boat tour, etc. Price includes reasonable buffet breakfast. Room was very clean. Adequate bathroom with small shower. Only complaint was poor choice of television channels, but who goes to Istanbul to watch television?

Great location for historic sites

The hotel is located in the old town and is very close to the Blue Mosque, The Hippodrome and the Hagia Sophia in the Sultanamet district. Transport to the hotel is easy use the Sultanamet tram stop and then take a five to ten minute walk depending on how fast you travel. There is also a Bazar near by and a number of cafes and restaurants. The hotel itself serves a good breakfast in the roof top terrace, which provides fine views out over the Sea of Marmara close to the entrance to the Bosporous. The staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful.

fairly good for single couple or family

very friendly staff at reception or breakfast.. room at the top of the hotel with nice view adds to joy of staying at the hotel.breakfast contents was great we have enjoyed late breakfast every day .breakfast start at seven till 10.30 a real bonus.is a nice clean compact hotel and near to beech and mosques kapali carsi tramway line.if i ever go back i will book my stay at this hotel again .nice tidy hotel i would recommend it .
