We stayed here as a convenient option to get to Times Square via the ferry. The hotel is well maintained, rooms are updated and overall it was a great experience! If I had to give any negative feedback it would be of the breakfast staff. Kinda grumpy, yelling at everyone about the toaster and don’t ask if they have any plain bagels because you WILL get told that don’t, even if they do. They have pre-made breakfast sandwiches that all have cheese on them, cereal, yogurts and bagels. The breakfast is poor in comparison to many other residence inns I have stayed in but the experience was made worse because of the lady running it. I stayed for 8 nights and she was plain rude every day. On a good note Dunkin is next door! Front desk and our housekeeper were lovely.

The room was beautiful and clean, but there were quite a few non-working items in the room. The phone battery was dead and the TV was not working properly, even after the non-working WiFi was restored hours after check-in. I was told that the pull out bed would be made for my 3rd guest, it was not. I used my cell phone to call the front desk and ask for sheets and the engineer to look at the phone and TV. After waiting 1.5 hours, I had to leave and put up a DND while I was gone. The sheets were brought, but the phone and TV were not restored. I was not offered any credit or compensation until approaching the front desk and asking what would be done. I spent $351 on a room for ONE night that didn’t have any of the perks I was promised when booking. Very disappointed and will likely not stay again. However, the location is convenient. The front desk was also hard to find from the parking garage. The breakfast was okay.

Needs Improvement in Customer Service
Needs Improvement in Customer Service Training I’ve stayed at this Marriott Residence Inn last year and again this year, and while I generally enjoy the hotel, it’s clear that more attention is needed when it comes to customer service training. The reception staff seems to change often, and while some individuals are excellent and very helpful, others are not equipped to handle even basic requests. The rugs was dirty they had to change me from room, the second one was better but still dirty rug, the tat need a deep cleaning. For example, I recently needed to make an international call, and when I asked the receptionist how to do so, he simply said he didn’t know, adding that no one had ever asked him before. He didn’t offer to find a solution or speak to a manager, which was disappointing. I believe this could have been handled better with proper training. While I love the hotel and appreciate its amenities, the customer service aspect really needs to be addressed. I also noticed that the reception team seems to be composed mostly of young men. I didn’t see much diversity, with only one woman present when I was checking out. I think the hotel could benefit from more diversity and inclusion in their staff.

Great hotel, couldn't have asked for anything more. Hotel staff were attentive and provided everything that we needed when the airline lost our luggage. They ensured that we were comfortable and supported us throughout the experience. Would definitely recommend and will certainly stay again when in New York.

I am giving this a bad review for two reasons. Firstly the sofa bed is impossible to sleep on and it should have been replaced many years ago. I appreciate most people don’t book a hotel for the sofa bed quality but I visited NY with my niece so one of us had to sleep in the living room. The overall quality of the hotel otherwise was decent. My main gripe is the fact that the hotel charged me after I already paid Expedia. In addition to the $2,000 extra charge, I also got a $864 charge on my credit card by the sister hotel Envue located next door. How this happened I have no idea. Since being back in the U.K. I have called the hotel 5 times but have been told only the manager can rectify this and she is never available and doesn’t return messages.

The hotel is conveniently located near the light rail, bus, and a ferry. You can take a nice walk along the Hudson River, and there's a supermarket about 15 minutes away on foot. The free breakfast is basic—don’t expect a large buffet with fresh fruit or scrambled eggs. They offer toast, cereals, and warm pre-packaged sandwiches. The room was spacious and included a kitchen and fridge. Everything was clean, except for the air conditioning—there was dust in the filters that needed cleaning.

A lot to improve
Room cleaning was not really cleaning but more fixing the bad. Breakfast is very basic; with a little more investment, it could be more like breakfast in other Marriott hotels in the chain. In addition, the hotel hosted two weddings in the same week. The noise and high volume of the music annoyed the guests, although they shut it off at 11 p.m. How come we had to suffer two nights in the same week? A lot of guests complained about that. The good thing was the location just in front of the ferry terminal, which made it very convenient to access the city. and two nice restaurants very close to the hotel + a lovely promenade.
