Victory lodge - the crown jewel of the sierra nevada

Victory lodge is an architectural masterpiece set against the backdrop of the magnificent sierra nevada mountains of california. Directly overlooking gull lake, this exclusive private residence offers spectacular views of carson peak and the june lake ski area. One of the largest log home structures ever built, the unique trophy property offers abundant space and privacy. Masterful craftsmanship and attention to detail are the hallmarks of victory lodge, an epically proportioned mountain estate built as a multigenerational legacy home.

Built with class and distinction

The massive log-and stone structure, which encompasses 16,500 square feet, blends rustic western frontier flavor with luxurious contemporary finishes and amenities. Victorian era antiques, fine furnishings and exquisitely wrought bronze and millwork throughout complement and enhance the rugged airy interiors.

A circular drive leads to the front portico, which is flanked by huge stone columns. Upon entering the residence, one is awed by the majestic dual staircase made of perfectly matched split logs. Just beyond the foyer is the expansive great room, where a towering wall of windows showcases breathtaking lake and mountain views. The world’s largest elk antler chandelier graces the great room from the thirty foot ceiling, and a hand-laid stone fireplace with copper finishes commands a central position. Another highlight is a thirty-eight foot beam with elaborate hand-carved detailing. A variety of seating areas invite both large scale entertaining and intimate conversation.

State-of-the art luxury living

The large gourmet kitchen features granite countertops, elaborate custom cabinetry, and state-of-the-art appliances. Unique fixtures and hardware are lovely accents to the gracious styling. There is also a commercial grade butler’s kitchen for entertaining convenience. Ideal for memorable repasts, the adjacent formal dining room boasts etched glass lighting and a beautiful oval oak table that seats eighteen.

The eight expansive bedrooms, which are distributed on the upper and lower levels, are appointed with fireplaces and luxurious en suite baths. Beautiful furnishings provide comfort and luxury.

On one of the upper floors, a gentlemen’s game room awaits with a minibar and various custom crafted table games. The lower level features a 80 person conference room / reception room with a full service cherry wood bar, walnut flooring, a copper stamped ceiling, enormous stone fireplace and an antique piano. Further enticements on this floor are the professionally equipped gym that includes dry and steam saunas, and the media and arcade rooms. An elevator serves three of the levels.

Amenities and other special features

Extensive decks and patios provide the perfect spot for savoring the spectacular vistas. On the main floor, the covered patio has a built in thermador barbecue area, while the lower level patio is warmed by a wood burning fireplace.

Not enough words to describe…
We were a small group of loss parents that attended for a grief retreat and it was absolutely the most perfect place. The views were breathtaking, the house was astounding, the property manager was sweet and there for anything we needed, and the owner is amazing! We’re so blessed to have been able to use this as a safe space to grieve our babies that we lost and to do some healing. It doesn’t get much better than this place.

Family Gathering and Ski Trip
The photos do not do this properly justice. It was the perfect venue for our family gathering. We were there a week and could have stayed a month. The owner was wonderful to work with. Art, the property manager was amazing and very attentive. We all felt like he was part of the family by the end of our vacation. June Mountain was only a few minutes from the house-perfect for the skiers in the group.

The best place you could ever hope to stay
Victory Lodge is a trophy property in June Lake that everyone should experience. The property is absolutely incredible. We had 10 adults and 10 kids for a ski getaway. People were pinching themselves as they walked through the property - like is this real. Every couple had a bedroom with en-suite bathroom. All the kids had beds. And we would do progressive dinners each night through the multiple rooms and bars in the house. On top of it, the property is about 1 mile away from June Mountain where kids 12 and under ski/ride for free. Absolutely incredible experience. It will be our pleasure to return again someday in the future.

As good as it gets
The property is exactly as the photos show and as described. The description or check-in list/email should mention all the items the house has, so the guests know what to bring and not to bring. That aside, the caretaker, Art, is a fantastic person. He gave a great tour of the home, checked in on us, setup a bonfire for 2 nights, and even brought my wallet that I forgot to Bishop! He’s truly just a great guy and you can sense it. Otherwise, the property is sitting amongst the most gorgeous backdrop! The only other wish list item would be steps to the lake with a dock! :)

Another Victorious stay at The Lodge!
This was our third stay at VL. We were extremely impressed at how well-kept this property is, despite the harsh 2023 winter. The hospitality and communication from both the owner the caretaker were exceptional. For its size, the property is priced appropriately such that it's a very economical stay. I highly recommend co-living w fam & friends in this amazing property for your next stay in June. You will not regret the decision. We will be back!

We all had a delightful stay at the Victory Lodge. Everything was smooth and easy, thanks to Art, the on-site manager. There were only eight of us, so we really spread out and enjoyed all the spaces. I wish I had a prep kitchen in my own house -- it was great for multiple simultaneous cooks!

What a treat!
Our group of 20 had an absolutely amazing time at Victory Lodge. The location is ideal with breathtaking views of Gull Lake from most rooms in the house. All ages had fun with the game rooms, and there was plenty of space for "me time" as needed. The proximity to June Lake amenities - really good beer at the brewery, delicious food at a few local restaurants, gear rentals at Ernies, basic necessities at the general store - as well as short drives to June Mountain for downhill skiing/snowboarding and to a few incredible trails for snow shoeing and xx skiing made the location extra perfect. We had to drive to Mammoth Lakes (about 30 min) for a grocery store, but that was easy as we were up there anyhow for skiing/snowboarding at Mammoth Mountain - which was amazing. Any question I had, from prior to reservation on through check out, was answered promptly and thoughtfully. Art was on site and available as needed, which was a really nice perk. Couldn't have asked for a better Winter vacation!!

Fantastic stay, awesome caretaker!
We celebrated our daughter’s 21st birthday with family and friends. We were all in awe over the property and hospitality of the caretaker. The lodge was perfect and beat our expectations. We are planning to rebook for a future stay. We ended up spending 90% of our time at the lodge since there was so much to do and such a beautiful place. Thank you to Art for making our stay so welcoming!
