Honua Kai is one of Maui's most luxurious five star resorts. Situated on North Kaanapali Beach, this oceanfront property is located just north of the Westin Kaanapali Villas and Nanea. If you are looking for quality accommodations on a beautiful sandy beach with a privacy, then this is for you! Honua Kai sits beachfront so you'll literally be just steps away form the tranquility of Maui's shoreline.

This couples and family friendly resort has 3 large pools and 5 hot tubs! The OHANA Pool is an infinity-edge lap pool featuring two hot tubs and perfect ocean views. The WATERSLIDE Pool features a one hundred and twenty foot waterslide and a waterfall that cascades into the main swimming area. Natural lava rock forms an elevated hot tub that takes in the ocean views. The WATERSLIDE Pool is also connected to a smaller pool with a sandy beach and a shallow walk-in, great for babies and small children. The RIVER Pool features a meandering river that flows through smaller swimming holes and waterfalls.

Our condo, Hokulani 410, is located on the 4th floor in the south building, known as the Hokulani Building. The Hokulani Building is one of two buildings on the resort and features the main reception area and the Aina Gourmet Market for your convenience.

Our spacious 2 Bedroom, 2 Bath unit is 1,100 square feet plus a 235 square feet lanai. The suite can accommodate six guests in two king-sized beds and one queen sized convertable sofa sleeper. Enjoy the beautiful furnishings and top of the line features including Bosch appliances, granite counter tops, and elegant modern fixtures. The suite is bright and airy and faces south with partial ocean views. The benefit of southern exposure in Maui is that our lanai is not exposed to the NE trade winds common in Maui. Therefore you can relax or have meals on the lanai while enjoying the year-round sunshine without being blown away. We couldn't be any happier with this suite!

Perfect for our family
This was our second time at this property The listing is perect for two adult couples. In our case my 93 yo father and in turns, each of his 3 children and their spouses. Beautiful beach, nice onsite restaurant (Duke's), 3 pools and 5 hot tubs. Like staying in a high end resort. The two king bed bedrooms is perfect for 2 adult couples. Conveniently located in Kaanapali.

Comfortable Stay in Maui
We really enjoyed staying in this unit. We found it to be well equipped with cooking and serving essentials. The beds were very comfortable. We enjoyed the spacious bathrooms and spacious lanai. We especially loved and took full advantage of the beach equipment and snorkeling gear. Made for a fun-filled, memorable stay with our 2 boys. Just a few things to note, some of the lights did not work, specifically above the bar and the dryer left our clothes damp. It wasn't a huge issue as I prefer to dry most of my clothing outside. The location is fantastic, ample garage parking, wonderful beach and pools. Having Duke's Bar & Grill on site was a huge plus. We also enjoyed the BBQ grills for several of our meals. All in all, it was a fantastic vacation and we would love to one day return. Mahalo!

Communication was great with the owners and the unit was a great setup for a family of 5. The property was also better than we expected with incredible access to the beach and pool areas. Also a great a lot to walk across and check out some local restaurants and coffee shops. Highly recommend for the value and location.

Fantastic week and condo!

We loved this place. Exactly as pictured. Perfect place for a family of 5. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook breakfasts. Had plenty of snorkel gear and chairs/umbrella to take with us on the beach. We will definitely come back and stay here again.

Amazing Sunsets at the beach
This beach was our favorite location for sunsets! We had a little hiccup w/room being ready on time, but the management was very responsive and gracious offering compensation. Unit was lovely, very comfortable all around, especially the bedding. My kids loved the long, heavy decorative pillows for dividing the 2nd king bed. Our only nitpick was that the AC turned itself off after 10 mins, even though it wasnt cooled to the set point: 70 degrees. Fortunately it never got too hot outdoors during our stay. The unit was equipped w/beach essentials: soft cooler, chairs, umbrella, boogie boards and a couple of snorkel masks. A shame Lahaina restaurants are no longer anchoring the food scene, but you wont starve.

Nice location with good view of the ocean and mountain from the outdoor space. Great for family. We had one minor maintenance issue during our stay, owner was very responsive and the issue was resolved quickly by the on site maintenance crew. Would definitely come back.

Great Family Spot!
We had an excellent stay. Owners were available via phone when we checked in, as the lock one hadn’t been updated, but fixed immediately. The condo fit all five of us (2 parents and 3 teenagers) nicely since there’s a fold out couch. All the amenities are in the condo that one could want, including perks like snorkeling gear and beach chairs/ towels. The grounds are beautiful and kids loved the pool. We noticed a ton of families with little ones, too- good for all ages! Immediate access to the beach was also great. The beach walk along the shore was an excellent perk, where we walked all the way down to Whalers Village- a great spot for shopping, coffee, and restaurants. (About 1.5 mi down). Of course Dukes is right by the pool too, which was a great spot to get poolside drinks and dinner without going anywhere! The condo was also nicer than most other hotels along the way, so we were super happy with the choice! We would 100% return. Aloha!

Texans Take Maui
This property was perfect. We spent end of July early August island hopping and stayed here for our time on Maui. The double king beds were great and the kids (9 and 11) slept on the couch. Beds were comfy, loved that name brand toiletries were available to use. Plenty of towels and kitchen bad everything we needed to prepare meals. Having chairs, boogie boards and a cooler ready for us to use was awesome! The beach does have rocky areas so wear some sort of secure water shoes. The pools were a hit. We went down at 10am one morning and I expected every chair to be “claimed” there were plenty open. Great trip and would absolutely use this property again for my family.

Wonderful Maui Vacation Spot
We loved this condo and the resort property, it was perfect for a family. The condo was spacious and had everything you need, it even had a large selection of snorkel gear in the closet. We loved coffee on the large Lanai. The resort pools were wonderful. The staff at the resort was great. We stopped at Costco on our way to the resort and the Valet guy took all of our supplies to the room in large bins !! Another thing we loved was the Beach Towel Dispensers, you could get fresh beach towels anytime you wanted, day or night, and there were always plenty of clean towels available. There is a large store in the other property building, short walk, with anything you might need, without having to get in the car and head out. Can’t wait to return !

We loved our stay at this property. It was just as described. The location is what I wanted, walkable to many places and short drive to others. The unit was supplied with all the essentials. The coffee shop in the lobby doubles as a convenience stop and is owned by friends of mine so that was a fun plus! Having Dukes on property makes it idyllic! Can’t wait to return

Maureen's condo did not disappoint!! We started every day with coffee on the lanai overlooking the ocean. We saw whale's every day!! We had an issue with the dryer the second day there but Maureen was very responsive and had the property management up and they fixed the issue immediately! Her unit is nicely located on the quiet side (away from the pools) but a short distance to get to them and to Duke's! We would definitely visit again and recommend this property to all friends!

Amazing Honua Kai Condo!!
We loved this property! We have stayed at Honua Kai before so we knew we would love the pools, restaurants, and common spaces. This unit did not disappoint!! The location is perfect and has convenient access to an elevator for the pool or parking garage. We loved the easy check in process and combination door lock. The owner got right back to me when we had a small question. Beds were comfortable and everything was great! We loved watching the whales play while we ate breakfast. Amazing experience here! We didn’t want to leave!
