We love our beautiful ground floor unit at Kona Isle. Step out from the lanai onto the lovely grounds and you are but a few steps from the heated pool and the lovely beach with its BBQ area and gorgeous view. There are lounge chairs and tables on the beach where you can sit and relax while you read a book, or take in the spectacular scenery. Watch the sunset each night with your favorite “glass” while you BBQ fresh fish and enjoy the aloha spirit of this beautiful island. There is a salt water pool adjacent to the property for your enjoyment. The property has a library where you can get a book from the vast selection to read while you relax.
We have had "ooos and aaaas" and "it is gorgeous" in our remodeled condo. We want you to love our "home away from home" as much as we do. We have had the bathroom completely redone, and the kitchen was redone. The pictures on our site show the condo just as it looks.
June 1, 2024, We just returned from our home away from home. Another beautiful, very busy, month in our condo. All appliances were checked to make sure they were in good working order. The condo was deep cleaned. Cabinets were cleaned, and we added new items for the kitchen. We purchased a new air conditioner, a 50" T.V., and vacuum cleaner. Mike installed under cabinet lights, that I love. Many things were done that you won't notice but make the condo more comfortable and function properly. In all it was another busy, enjoyable time in "our home away from home". Already thinking about our next trip.
August, 2023, Again, were were in our condo a month and returned in August. We had the living room painted so it is now nice and fresh. While we were there, we deep cleaned the condo, we moved dressers and furniture, the refrigerator, washed windows and fans to make sure it was all cleaned. All cabinets were cleaned and new shelf paper was laid down. I washed all the bedding and towels (even though they were clean,
it's something I usually do), bought new dishes and washed the ones there. I also put in a new carpet in the living room and throw rugs in the kitchen. Mike fixed the blinds again, and made sure the air conditioner was in working order. On the lanai, Mike made a rack with hooks to hang wet towels and bathing suits. I love it and it looks nice. We also put a protective coat on the teak furniture on the lanai and freshened up the paint. These are some of the things we did to keep our home away from home inviting and in great condition. I have an idea what I want to do in June. E Kipa Mai, come visit.
August, 2022, Mike and I returned from Kona after a month in our condo. First thing we tackled was the bedroom. We had it painted (I did not paint it this time) and the gentleman did a wonderful job. We purchased new lamps, night stands, and a tower fan for the bedroom along with new sheets, light bed spread and bed scarf. We purchased blinds for the bedroom windows and made sure everything was in working condition. I moved my "Hawaiian" lamp to the dresser, ( I love that lamp). The kitchen got a makeover with new stools for the counter, and dishes and towels. I washed all the couch covers, so the couch is now nice and bright and clean. We repaired blinds, washed windows, did some painting, washed all the rugs in the kitchen and living room, and made sure everything there was working properly. On our lanai, we added a deck box for storing the snorkeling equipment that is there and boogie boards. We also purchased a Teak table and chair set for the lanai. We have two woven chairs there so you can place your towels on to dry OR put them in the dryer to dry. It was a busy month. I did not think we would take up the entire month working on the condo, but it did. You know one thing leads to another and even if it is a small job, it takes time to do it correctly. All this being said, we love our condo and want to make it as enjoyable for our guests as it is for us. E Komo Mai, Welcome.
MAY 2021, we just came back from Kona after a month of upgrading, purchasing, painting. Let's start in the living room. We purchased a new "smart T.V.". After taking two back, we decided on a 43" Samsung, nice and clear. Mike fixed the cords so now you don't see them and it looks great. We did touch up painting, purchased a new HI Revealed book for your use at our condo, fixed blinds, purchased new pillows for the couch, and a new rug. Move on to the kitchen: We purchased new dishes, glasses, sharp knives (as suggested), made sure all appliances were in great working condition, and did maintenance to protect appliances from the salty air. Everything looks and works great. I left coffee filters, napkins, plastic utensils and plastic wrap for you to use, but I cannot guarantee that anything will be left (unless someone leaves more there). That is what is so nice about our guests, they will leave items for others to use. I also purchased new bath towels, beach towels, sheets, and bed pillows. My favorite addition is a new bed frame we have purchased, that gives you place to store your suitcase if it is 12" or narrower. I have been looking for months for a bed frame and low and behold this one is made in Hawaii. I just love, love it. We did touch up painting all over the condo, Mike worked on the windows to make sure they open and close easily, all curtains were washed and condo was deep cleaned. And the final and really tiring addition is 3 new doors. Front door, bathroom door and bedroom door. We painted the inside doors after Mike worked all day to get the doors to close smoothly. In between, Lowes, Home Depot or Costco saw us or all three saw us almost every day. I told Mike our next trip, we do nothing and he said "Yeah right". He is right, I already said we needed to get, well you will just have to wait until next time.
APRIL, 2021 After a year and a half, we will be going soon to visit this beautiful island and our home away from home. We will be purchasing and replacing items that need tender care, doing a little remodeling, deep cleaning and just making sure everything is in excellent condition. Just to let you know, due to covid, no staples are left in the refrigerator or cabinets. The cleaning staff makes sure the condo is clean and disinfected before every guest arrives, and they remove all food items and get it ready for you.
SEPTEMBER, 2019 We just returned from our condo after a month. Some of the things we did were to purchase a table and chairs for the lanai, sheets and towels, accent rugs, two beach chairs, set of frying pans, coffee pot, and we replaced the blinds in the living room. We also had a new lanai door installed in July. We always change, replace and add items to keep our condo inviting. We of course did our deep cleaning and maintenance to keep the condo looking great and function properly. We already have plans for some changes to the condo that will be done hopefully in the coming year.
In JANUARY, 2018, we were in Kona for a month and again did our deep cleaning, checked items to make sure they were in good condition, did a little painting and our big project this year was to purchase a new washer/dryer, had a couch with Hawaiian print made, and purchased new rugs to match. Every time we are here, we upgrade our condo a little more.
Mike and I love this piece of paradise and we are sure you will also. Mahalo for visiting our site and enjoy your stay!
