Perfect getaway

My husband and I were on a getaway weekend for our anniversary. I booked the hotel because I love architecture, specifically art deco. The hotel is beautiful. The rooms are all updated and modernized but with period appropriate fixtures. Shortly after getting settled in our room I received a text making sure all was well with our accommodation. The following day I received another text to make we were still good. She was able to book our reservation for the restaurant when I inquired about it. I was curious about the Speakeasy and was able to get reservations. Both were wonderful. The food at Travernonna was beyond expectation. Incredibly fresh. There was a little confusion over who our waitstaff would be, but once that was figured out our waiter was wonderful, I never felt rushed but he was prompt with keeping us comfortable. The speakeasy was quaint and the drinks were very strong. I loved the ambiance and our waitress was punctual. Our glasses never went dry. Overall it was a wonderful experience. We will be back.

The lobby is absolutely beautiful. The rooms are cold, and when you turn the heat on it blasts you away. The room is extremely small but the shower is awesome. Due to the blackout curtains not closing all the way, the light shines in at night. We had reservations at the P.S. Speakeasy, and less than an hour before our reservation at 730, they messaged me on OpenTable to tell us that they had a private party and we were more than welcome to come after 11pm. We went to the restaurant to have a drink and we were disappointed. Unfortunately, just not a good experience for us.

Perfect weekend)

This was our second time staying for a chiefs home game! Everything was great! Even when they had a technical issue in their speakeasy, they quickly recommended something directly across the street that was fabulous! They are always accommodating. It was a freezing weekend but the rooms were perfectly heated

I liked the design inside of the hotel. Felt like I was set back in the 1930s. I didn’t like how loud it was when you could hear outside the rooms so easily.

Hotel was Gorgeous and we were very happy with our room, I was only in KC to catch a Flight back Home after visiting Topeka and wanted to have a nice stay, we made reservations at PS and enjoyed our drinks, coming back to the room we noticed their was not a plug for the tub (our reason for the stay was to soak and be close to the airport) maintenance couldn’t locate one and we were promptly upgraded to a Suite. All Staff were accommodating and cheerful. We are definitely going to make this our go to Date Night when I move to Topeka

The room was very comfortable and clean. The staff was exemplary, especially during the challenging snowstorm that closed everything down and prevented many of their staff from coming in. They provided food and services as best they could and with a smile.

This is an older hotel with limited amenities. The beds are small and not very comfortable. The pillows are good. Parking is inconvenient if not valet.
