Good basic and clean place only 15 mts walk from station. We were stranded at Karuizawa due to bad weather and had to book it at last minute and we were happy with hotel
Hotel was a little too far to walk from the JR Station. On a weekday evening, there were no food outlet or restaurant nearby. The only one was a bar with a solitary ukulele musician who strummed some Hawaiian melodies as he tried his best to sing in English. The operator was a one-man show who took an hour to serve my wife and I our order for a plate of beef rice and a plate of chicken rice. When it was time to pay, he then asked for a "music charge" of 500 yen per dinner!!!
Small hotel with friendly & helpful staff; walking distance to Prince Outlet & old Karuizawa street; breakfast not too many varieties but nice & sufficient.
Shortage is - no elevator, not too convenient for carrying heavy baggages.
It's close to the JR station and sightseeing points.

Just fair for the price.
You must be strong to take your luggage to the 2nd floor, and you could not expect your room be cleaned up everyday.

Newly furnished, clean room. Large toilet.
The service was a bit inconsistent. Initially they said that I couldn't check in, 5 mins after helping me to carry my luggage up to the 2nd storey lobby and storing it, they discovered that my room was ready. Which I was very relieved about. But the room was extremely chilly. It was winter. Took the whole day for the electric heater to warm up the whole room.
Used the public bath only once because you need to walk to the first level and in an outdoor area to reach the onsen. Seriously? Cold in winter.
The bed was huge and pretty comfy. Nobody helped me with my luggage during check out :(
But otherwise it was a nice peaceful room. Enjoyed the cleanliness and pretty luxurious feel it has. Nice iphone speakers.
It's in between the station and kyu karuizawa and it's pretty walkable. 1km in each direction. I didn't use public transport. Too icy to cycle so didn't see if they have bikes.

Great deal!
This hotel offered complimentary breakfast , which was *really* amazing. Do not miss it!. The room was excellent for the price, as no strong odor even though it was a smoking room. I definetly recommend the hotel.
