Nice stay
We had a very nice stay. The property fit our needs well and we had a relaxing time. It was our first time staying on a waterway rather than the sea and it was really good. The resort pool and beach that is nearby was functional but crowded; we spent most of our time at other beaches. The communication was clunky at first because we were getting information directly from Vacasa with links for us to click on rather than through VRBO and it wasn't clear if it was legit or not. It took a few times contacting the number in VRBO to confirm that Vacasa was indeed legit and not a scam.

Great Place
Everything was great! We would definitely stay again. The only negative thing that we noticed was the house keeper needs to sweep and mop the floors better

Memories Made!!
This was the first visit for Lisa to Key Colony , and Kelly's 5th, (who always hesitates to tell people about it as she wants to keep it all to herself, she loves it so much..... lol ) We stayed Sat-Sat and definitely needed more days! Key Colony is a magical place and what even made it more special was your home.... The outdoor patio is amazing to spend time on....The dock was so fun to look into the water and look for sea creatures, or fish off of and we loved taking the kayak out!! Living space, kitchen and bedrooms are perfect and great spaces to hang in. We loved the beautiful counters in the kitchen and stocked very well for all your cooking needs. Bedrooms also very spacious and very Comfortable with lots of Pillows.....................No closets but a hanging rack in each room ( more hangers please) and storage below beds and a dresser in the one means enough space for your clothes. Not to mention a nice washer and dryer. Access to Cabana club is great ! All you need to do is check in once you arrive. The staff are great and also has a little cute cafe shop on site. Sunset Park is a must for Sunsets that is all we will tell you.... 🙂 Trust us to go. This house was Clean, Beautiful, Amazing Outdoor Area and Dock, Wonderful Neighbors on both sides ....we definitely will book again ! Thank you, Oscar and Family! Your Friends from Minnesota Lisa and Kelly :)

Beautiful place, but….
Pros: Great place, plenty of beds, clean on the most part. It was beautifully decorated and everything was comfortable. Kitchen had plenty of dishes, silverware and cups. The coffee maker had the wrong types of filters, so brewing coffee was a challenge. The covered lanai was beautiful and overlooked the canal. The dock was in great shape and bait freezer was a plus. Having the washer and dryer inside was great as we pack light and do laundry in mid week. I did not experience the dryer issues at all. I think the problem most people experienced was they close the laundry closet doors. There is a dryer intake vent on the right side and we left that door open when doing laundry. Not once did we have to run cycle again. Actually, the moisture sensor dried the loads in about 30-40 mins. Cons: * The family room/kitchen is a bit tight because of the larger couch but it was not a deal breaker as it had a large peninsula to prep and eat meals. We were able to bring the stools around to eat in the more spacious side. The stools do need to be repaired or replaced. One was really wobbly but the other three were fine if you didn’t move too much. The family room tv remote needs to be replaced. We were unable to change the batteries but I don’t think that would have helped. * Another thing that I did not expect in Florida, was no ceiling fans in the bedrooms. There is one in the family room but none in the bedrooms. Both rooms appeared to have had one at one time but they were covered with a decorative plate cover. In March, the evenings cool off so the air gets stagnant because the a/c won’t run often as it’s just not that hot. There was a table fan in the master bedroom, but it sounded like a jet engine and was unable to sleep with it. We just cranked down the a/c and wore sweat shirts to bed. * Finally, they (rental company or owners) fail to tell you that they do not provide a single bar of soap, not even a small hotel size, one to just wash your hands. No dish soap either, so after dropping our bags and quick bio break to go grab our supplies at Publix, we had no soap to wash our hands. I carry Clorox wipes and liquid soap, so I had to dig it out of our bags before heading out. Not checking the kitchen before we left, after eating, we had no dish soap either, not even a mini one. **. Overall, it was a nice stay and may rent it again, now knowing about the soap and dryer issue but the ceiling fans would nice addition.

Key Colony Beach trip
We wanted to escape the cold of the midwest. We had stayed in Key West before so I decided to try something different in the Keys. This was a perfect location for us since we are 4 people about 60 in age. Property was exactly what was shown. We went to Key West twice, went to state parks, etc. Loved the temperatures that ranged between upper 70's and never lower than 68.

Great waterfront Get-a-way
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The home was clean, and was equipped with a starter roll of paper towels, 4 rolls of toilet paper, small container of dish soap, three packets of dishwasher pods, bar soaps in the bathrooms and containers of shampoo and conditioner. There was a large tandem kayak with seat support for us to use. The home was well-maintained, and appliances worked well. (After reading the reviews of the dryer, however, we did not use it and air dried our clothes instead.) The outside porch is not screened, but we had no issues with mosquitoes; it also has the only table for four, but inside has pretty TV style trays so we ate inside as well. We brought a Roku stick and enjoyed our shows and music. The internet worked well with all of our devices and there was plenty of hot water for showering. The neighbors are really sweet, and the street is quiet, with a beautiful view of the sunrise with our morning coffee. The Cabana Club is only a few minutes walk, as our a couple of very nice restaurants. The Sunset Park was fun at sunset with everyone collecting and music announcing the sunset. They have a bait cage, and table to prepare fish etc., which we didn't use. They also had a full tank of propane for us, as we requested, and our plans changed so we didn't use the grill, but were very pleased that they were so accommodating. We found Vacasa to respond to our questions just fine. Thank you for allowing us to stay at your beautiful home.

Nice get away, but much stress with Vacasa!
We enjoyed staying here. Good location, clean, everything updated, nice neighbor that filled us in on local spots, and places of interest. Would be nice to have, a local # to call for questions, no instructions left as to how to leave, time,? Dishwasher,? Bedding? We did leave it as we found it, neat and clean. We were there for three weeks, and had to wash sheets that took hours to dry,. There was no cleaning supplies, except for a swifter wet jet, that was less than clean,. No, spray cleaner, except for bathroom, but no disposable rags to clean with. Local management was responsive, and brought us blankets, as it was 40'. We thought we rented from VRBO, who turned out to be VACASA, instead. The absolute worst company EVER! No communication as to address! Lock box code, until the morning of our stay, and told us we could not bring our small dog, even tho it was supposed to be pet friendly, and charged us $300 even though we paid insurance. We were now 1000 mi from home, and on our way to Marathon, after more communication to Vacasa ( on our part) we learned we could bring our dog. We had left him with friends in Naples, as we did not want to lose our $7000 rental. Our friends,( three days later) brought him to us, when vacasa relented, and drove 5 hrs. To bring him to us. I think VACASA owes us the $300 back! To reimburse our friends Not to mention the ridiculous service charges and three different "taxes" for which there was no explanation. To the owners, VACASA does not do your rental any justice. We have NO qualms with you, as your home was what we expected. But we will NEVER rent through VACASA again. Their reviews are terrible.

Marathon is lovely and fun!
Location on the canal is wonderful. We saw manatees playing and lots of marine life in the canal right in our backyard. We drove to Key West (1.5 hr. drive) and had a fun day walking around and shopping, eating and taking photos. Restaurants in Marathon are good, lots to choose from. There is hiking and kayaking on Marathon Key. We drove to No Name Key to see key deer, but none were visible. The pool was easy to use with a small beach. The beaches in the Keys are small... if you want a beach vacation, think twice about the Keys. There are many other things to do though. About this unit... the new renovation is clean and pretty. The neighbors were extremely helpful and pleasant (only as needed). As positive as everything was, a couple housekeeping issues were observed. The clothes dryer doesn’t dry very well. It takes 4-5 cycles to dry an average load of laundry. The hand can opener was broken. We had to open a can with a knife. There was used foil in the toaster oven. When we went to use the gas grill, there was no propane. We did call the property manager and they had a new tank installed within 30 minutes. We would come back again to this unit and especially Marathon Key.
