Nice but lacking in the details.
The hotel was really nice but the water park was the reason we booked the hotel and it was closed. They did not offer passes to anywhere else with at least an indoor pool and hot tub, which we have seen other hotels do. Staff was kind bit not super accomodating. We did some of the kids activities that the itinerary said could be charged to room or take cash and they refused cash. This hotel had really nice suites with kitchens, you would think they would have recycling since you are getting your own groceries.

They said they are in the process of remodeling since Hilton acquired the property. The first building we were in put had roaches and the garbage can under the sink was full from the previous guest. Stains on carpet and couch. The door into unit looked as if it had been busted down as door jamb was very cracked and door hard to close. The weather stripping was missing off the bottom of the door which left about a two-three inch gap. I called them the next morning concerning the roaches and they offered a technician to come and spray as it was safe for humans. I refused asked if another room was available or we would like to be refunded. They moved us to another room, stains on carpet was worse but at least no bugs. I wasn’t comfortable in the room, so we spent the entire day away from resort. When you pull into the property you think that you are going to experience first class amenities, however, it is not the case. We will not be back.

Buyer beware!!!
We stayed one night with our 2 adult boys. Today we received a voicemail that accused us of multiple bites in the wooden mini blinds. We have called twice to talk with Pricilla who is not available. We had no pets or children. This is fraudulent as well as insulting and we are extremely upset about this accusation against us. We have traveled for 30+ years and have never had any problems with our stay in various places. We would never recommend this place to anyone.

The property was private and quiet for the most part. Didn’t feel too touristy. Our room was very clean, comfortable, and had a “home away from home” feeling. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We also enjoyed the very quick backroad beach access and visitor designated parking. Definitely would visit again.

The property and our unit were as expected and was clean. Our unit shared a common area (hallway) with another unit that had some noisy children but they were not that way all the time. We really liked the location, the gate security and the size and amenities of the unit. Even though some of the extras and attractions here were closed down and or being worked on, we still really enjoyed our stay and will more than likey stay here again if we return to Kitty Hawk in the future.
