Kiani Beach Resort Family
4/5 Good
Good holiday but lots to improve
"The hotel is good. They claim to be five star but in my opinion unfortunately it's three or three and a half. They are not aiming at high quality - they have potential for so much more.
Good: pool, gym, sport options, beach, room size, friendly reception staff, some restaurant staff was also really nice, lots of beach chairs.
Ok: food (lacking flavor a bit but otherwise ok), cleaning (that varied a lot - one day it was excellent, the next they just mopped in middle of the floor and took away our beach towels without replacing them).
Not so good: drink selection - the sodas from the tap were local brand, the wines from the tap absolutely horrible (=undrinkable and I am not a wine-snob). The bathroom floor was done in the wrong way: water ran the wrong way and stayed at the other end rather than going in the drain. Really noisy restaurants: if they would invest in table cloths, it would make a huge difference. But apparently they want to keep all the costs as low as possible.
It seemed like some of the restaurant staff were in such a role for the first time whereas others were excellent. No one seemed to care about feedback.
This was the first time in an all inclusive when I drank zero glasses of wine due to the taste of it.
The location is beautiful but it's not the easiest to get to - in April the last bus from Chania leaves already at 14.30!"
