Very easy to find after getting off the shinkansen at Kyoto station. Checking in and out was done via a machine kiosk (for some reason it couldn't read any of my credit cards, but I could pay by cash)

Very close to Kyoto Station, so easy to get to and travel from. The check-in process is automated via kiosk but this process is confusing as the design of the walk-in area does not make it clear what you should do (there are staff at desks) and the area's aren't labelled well. Due to how busy the hotel was, it was hard to get an elevator. The room was large but that was due to a free upgrade and the bathroom was clean and spacious. Good amenities.

Self check in/out was fast/cost efficient but staff had the "ho-hum, matter of fact" attitude. There was no graciousness or appreciation, which quite unusual for Japan. Superior twin room only had 1 drawer for our personal items & resorted to obtaining 2 cardboard boxes from Aeon store to remedy the issue.

Good location with lots of eating options nearby
I liked the location in the sense that it is a bit away from the most busy part of Kyoto Station. The down side is that you need to walk a little far after getting down from the train/subway. Eating options are abundant. I don't even have enough time to explore the surrounding despite the fact that I stayed there for 9 nights. The size of the room is big comparrd to the usual hotels in Japan. Service is good and room is clean. Overall satisfied with my stay and definitely will consider coming back.again.

I arrived 30 minutes before check-in, exhausted and eager to settle in, only to find that there was a fee for early check-in if I didn’t want to wait. This surprised me, as most hotels offer early check-in free of charge when the room is ready—and mine was. Additionally, I discovered that rooms on the first four floors have centrally controlled heating and air conditioning. My room’s air conditioning wasn’t working, making it unbearably hot. When I requested a room change, I was informed there would be a fee, as rooms above the fifth floor are considered premium. Only after insisting on speaking to the manager was the charge waived. I’ve stayed here twice before—it was my go-to hotel in Kyoto. Unfortunately, this will be my last stay.
