The Righa Gran is an elegant, sophisticated hotel within a very short distance of Kyoto station. We wanted comfort and easy access to the JR rail system and this was the perfect location. The rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated, and the bed was a dream. We had need of emergency healthcare and the staff were very quick, understanding and professional in arranging for an ambulance to attend us. After we returned to the hotel, they were genuinely concerned and took extra care of our needs. We greatly appreciated their assistance throughout a difficult time. We would definitely stay here again.

We had a great time here. The train station is within walking distance, and AEON market within 10 mins walk provides various choice of dining options and shopping options. The hotel is very clean and advanced.

Great choice!
Check in was very smooth. Each room has wifi code so it was very fast and smooth. The public bath was great to relax after a long day of walking around. Close to the Kyoto station and easy to navigate to places. Drink service on the reception floor was very nice touch. The room was a bit small but can’t complain too much because it’s Japan. Personally I loved the tea set, complete with high end tea bags and an iron teapot, and a pour-over electric kettle. And they had instant coffee too (most Japanese hotels only have Japanese tea bags). And you CAN get free fresh coffee on the reception floor after 10am (if you don’t have breakfast with the stay). Overall it was an awesome experience. We will stay there again.

Although the rooms were slightly on the small side, I would stay at the Rihga Gran Kyoto on a future visit. The hotel appears to be new and is immaculately maintained. Nothing looks worn. The beds were comfortable. The front desk staff was very nice. It was convenient that coffee, water, and sodas were available in the lobby after the breakfast rush ended and throughout the day until the restaurant closed. Breakfast was a little on the weird side regarding selection. There was a bento box option and a buffet. It was nice to be able to have a second cup of coffee if desired. With that said, I probably would not opt for breakfast included in my stay. The hotel is very conveniently located to Kyoto Station on the Shinkansen side.

Our 1 night stay was very comfortable. The room may be small but everything looked and felt like a 5 star hotel, from the beautifully decorated room to the plush beds to the clean bathroom with all the extra amenities. I wish we could have stayed a couple more days there.

The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, particularly the General Manager Okada. Our son was sick and he helped coordinate medical treatment, transportation and even wrote down symptoms to explain to the doctor. He was extremely helpful. The cleaning staff did a great job, the hotel was close walking distance to the station and surrounding restaurants. I would highly recommend. .
