Stayed for 4 nights. Hotel was clean, roomy, and best of all, had a washer/dryer combo unit in the room! This allowed us to pack half of what we needed for a 16 day trip, and did laundry half way through the night before we headed out to Osaka on day 8. Just do small loads so it drys well. We really liked the breakfast buffet every morning, and there was a Starbucks, right around the corner if needed, but their hotel restaurant had the best coffee out of all the placed we tried the entire trip (Tully's came in second place). Train station was about a block and a half walk. Quiet room. I would recommend this hotel.

The room was not cleaned to our expectations. The carpet was not well vacuumed as I saw small pieces of garbage left on the carpet when we checked in. Wifi security was weak.

Overall, our stay was decent. The hotel room was clean, other than the carpet seeming to be dusty and there was a rather large stain on the carpet. The staff were very friendly. The room was quite warm, as the air conditioning was turned off for the season.

Overall, a really great stay! Would like to give 4.5 stars! Location is extremely convenient and close to subway and bus stations. You can walk to Nishiki market easily, and there is a lot of great shopping and restaurants in the area. I love walking, so I was able to walk from the hotel to Gion area in 30 minutes. The Japanese breakfast each day was also a great addition. They change the sides each day. If you’re more into a Western breakfast, then I wouldn’t opt in for breakfast here. It’s Japanese breakfast is far superior. Staff is friendly and helpful as well. Highly recommend especially considering price point and location!

A pleasant hotel. Nothing to fancy but nice. Enjoyed the generous portion of complimentary Sake in the lobby nightly. Beds were comfortable and rooms were adequate. Best part was the neighborhood - it is a bit off the usual tourist path and excellent food options in walking distance!

During our trip to Japan, Tokyu Stay Kyoto Sanjo-Karasuma was the most modern location we stayed at. From the lobby to the rooms, the finishes and surfaces throughout the hotel were luxurious and inviting. Staff were extremely friendly, even so far as going out of their way to ensure that we were prepared for our day with umbrellas or jackets upon seeing us. Our room was rather spacious to accommodate 3 of us visiting, and the bathroom was a comfortable size. I highly recommend staying at any Tokyu Stay during your trip to Japan!

Be careful if you book here, there are hidden fees for children! Anyone over the age of 6 is considered an adult!! Andddd it incurs additional charges! A plus is there are washer/dryer combo in your room but there are no instructions in English! So it’s really difficult to use successfully, we couldn’t get the dryer to dry our clothes.

Room has washer dryer so it is very convenient. But I am not sure if it is coz when we got there it was cloudy and then rainy, one of the two rooms we booked had the damp smell. Other than that, everything else is fine.

The location was great. Close to public transport and also walking distance to many good restaurants and Nishiki market. The room was spacious and the tub was nice for our 11 month old daughter.
