Great place, great view
We really enjoyed our stay, it’s very close to town and overlooks Donner. My only negative is the e pillows on the bed are not very comfortable, so bring your own if you can.

Don’t plan on getting sleep
The house was nice enough, clean and nice view of Donner Lake. However, the noise from the freeway was extremely loud and prevented sleep. During the day it wasn’t so noticeable given ambient noise from tv etc but once retiring for the evening, it was almost impossible to get to sleep.

Epic views
This property has a lovely large entertaining space for a family to gather and enjoy views of Donner lake and the surrounding mountains. The kitchen was well equipped with pots for cooking. The property worked well for our dog who is a member of the family, and enjoyed laying in front of the wood stove. The host was very responsive. Thank you for hosting us!

Great veiw rental
The veiw of Lake Donner and the surrounding mountains is wonderful. You can see the train across the lake. Comfortable house with a nice open combined kitchen and living room area. You can see and hear I80 in the front of the house.

Amazing Views, Great Layout
We enjoyed our stay at this Truckee home near Donner Lake. Views are incredible. Great open floor plan made relaxing, playing card games, and cooking with the family easy. We would definitely come again. But do bring slippers! the tile floors are cold. (Heated floors only in the bathrooms)

Great Truckee Property
My family and I greatly enjoyed staying at this property. Although you can hear the sounds of the freeway, it didn’t bother us at all. We were warned that the picture windows would get the afternoon sun would warm up the place, so we made sure all the heaters were off before we left the house. The view of the lake was spectacular. The newly renovated kitchen and bathrooms were awesome! I was so excited to have heated floors. They accept dogs, but there is a slight fee. One of the bedrooms bed (queen) was extremely squeaky and kept my son up all night. My primary bed was awesome. The only complaint/concern was the cleanliness of the place. The refrigerator was dirty. The countertop was sticky, there were bugs on the window sills, the only carpet in the stairs needs to be replaced. I wanted to clean things up and ran out of the only paper towel roll that was available. Other than that, it was a fabulous stay! Close to town, grocery shopping, playing in the snow, great coffee at Wild Cherries!

Great cabin with an amazing view
This cabin was great! Clean and well stocked. My kids loved playing in the snow outside while I relaxed while taking in the incredible view. I was concerned about the proximity to the freeway but with the way the cabin is situated you barely notice it. We plan to return.

Lake View Cabin
Very nice Cabin close to everything in Truckee. The Main living area looks out over the Lake and is a spectacular view. Large beautiful well equipped kitchen. 2 very large TV screens in both the living area and master bedroom. Would stay there again.

It's all about that view...
Very nice property. A few issues.. we were told no washer and dryer, but the house does have a washer and dryer. The fire alarm goes off, when you take a shower downstairs and the door is not cracked open and the fan is on. This alarm went on for several minuets. Very load and annoying. Maybe move the alarm?

The view of Donner Lake was gorgeous as stated in the description. It was very relaxing despite the traffic below. The location of the house was very convenient and we were able to walk to the museum in the Donner Lake Memorial State Park.

The house was nice inside. Kitchen and bathrooms are newly updated. The view is amazing! The traffic noise was horrible. You could not open the windows because it was so loud. The blinds in the bedroom upstairs are broken. It felt a little uncomfortable in the bathroom downstairs because there was a window with no blinds.

Nice but has shortcomings
There are major pros to this house, beautiful views (incredibly truly), great location, large new kitchen and heated floors in the bathrooms. But even with these pros I wouldn't recommend this house to my friends or family. When we arrived it was HOT, it’s January. The sun really comes into the house and during the day very hot. But, in the evening it gets cold, and the tile makes it even colder. They do have in room heaters but with the heat during the day we left them off. The windows could use some updating, and with little kids it was a bummer to have a window without a screen and some broken. There are three TVs but only one worked the entire weekend. The person to reach out to tired to help but being pretty savvy myself I knew one of the boxes was just not working and one TV honestly seemed unusable. I don’t want to end on a bad note, we did have a great time and the house has some major positives It just wasn’t for our family.

An amazing home with a view of Donner Lake
We came to the area for a wedding, little did we know the property would be one of the best places we have stayed in our lifetime. Beautiful and very comfortable for the six adults and a toddler under 2. This home is a must stay and we will be back! Kudos to the Property Manager.

Extended weekend Getaway
The house was very nice with a a great view of Donner Lake. Considering all the fires burning at the time, the weather was nice. We spent most of the days at the lake and evenings at the cabin.

Nice house but could be better
The positives- Great location near downtown Truckee and across Donner Lake. Beautiful remodeled kitchen and bathrooms. Amazing views of Donner Lake. The negatives- As others have said, the house gets hot in the summer as there is no AC. The flyscreens on the windows need to be replaced as most are torn and allow bugs in the house when the windows are open. The kitchen utensils and plates are old and very limited and should be replaced. There is no dish rack or sponges provided to wipe down counters. The hand soap is oddly super thick and hard to dispense. We had to buy our own. Note there is no backyard. There is a grill that can be used on the driveway. Also, the bear bin was completely full when we arrived up so there was no space to but our garbage. Overall the property could be awesome if there is AC and updates to amenities.

Beautiful home with amazing views!
The house was amazing, the kitchen and great room made the home!! The views of the lake were beautiful, perfect get away house. Check in was simple and the house had everything you need. My family enjoyed the close proximity to everything and was perfect to escape the heat of the valley. Will definitely book here again
