Step inside a classic lakeside home! Build a fire in the wood-burning fireplace and enjoy a book or conversation - the musically inclined guest can plink out a tune on the piano. The living room table is perfect for board games, as is the eat-in table in the full kitchen. Central air conditioning will keep everyone comfortable no matter what season you visit. You'll be able to cook with ease thanks to the open design, full-size appliances, and dishwasher to help with cleanup. The whole group (and the family dog) can enjoy the enclosed backyard, complete with a firepit for enjoying calm summer nights.

What's nearby:
This home is just 500 feet from a private Lake Michigan beach, perfect for afternoon picnics. There's plenty of options for Lake Michigan fun in the area - New Buffalo Public Beach and Warren Dunes State Park are each within seven-and-a-half miles of the home. Locally, guests can enjoy shopping at Harbert Antique Mall and Lakeside Antiques (both within one-and-a-half miles).

The pet fee is per stay and ranges between $150 and $200, depending on the bedroom count, and will apply for each additional dog.

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

Comfortable and relaxing ... Great location!

The house is clean and spacious. It's showing some wear and due for updating, but everything is functional. The location is excellent -- 10-minute drive to New Buffalo restaurants and shops, 20-minute drive to St. Joe, about 10 minutes from Warren Dunes State Park, centrally-located to the wineries and breweries, and close to several nature preserves. There's a private beach for the neighborhood that's about a minute walk. We saw a family of deer every day as we came and went on our adventures.

This was our first time vacationing at Lake Michigan and the cottage did not disappoint. It was perfect for what we needed. Close to an awesome private beach and small restaurants. My family had an amazing time we’ll definitely be back.

nice quiet and comfortable place

this house is well laid out and comfortable. the beach is about a block away and very nice. But this is not a vacation rental by owner but rather by a management company. Communications were very poor. I had anxiety about the check in check out. It all worked out but I wonder what would have happened in an emergency. I think it is run by a robot.

Nice getaway....

We had a nice getaway weekend and stayed at Turner house for a second time. Have a couple recommendations...the oven/vent could use an upgrade...we used oven but had to have garage door, patio door and kitchen windows open so smoke detector would stop blaring- nothing was burning, just the heat alone caused and vent didnt help at all. Not great when it's 39 degrees and raining... Bigger TV for the living room would be welcome! Management should consider supplying saran wrap or foil and basic necessities like pepper. Both of the bathroom sinks the stoppers do not work. Otherwise, thank you for another great stay.

Comfortable and Clean

Our small group of 4 enjoyed our weekend at Turner Cottage. Everything was as promised. It looked like a previous visitor had kicked in part of the sliding screen door and they definitely need a rug for coming in from the deck, but otherwise the house is very well equipped and cozy. We would definitely stay here again.

Early summer get away

We enjoyed our time in a quiet neighborhood with very easy beach access. The un-fenced yard is surprisingly large, which our dog greatly enjoyed. I recommend bringing a flashlight if you want to walk around at night.

Terrible, not as advertised.

This house was not ready to be rented. It was dirty, there were dead bugs in the windowsills, on the ground and stuck in between furniture. The owners moved moved most of their stuff out, left a few old crappy pieces from circa 1950. Nails left in walls and all. Not even a fresh coat of paint. Very, very outdated. Even the utensils and plates are many many decades old. Smelled very musty. Drawers full of very old ensure. Couches you could see springs and felt them too. Very uncomfortable. No lights in the ceilings so we had to rely on one small dim lamp in the tv room and living room. It is very dark at night. Missing lightbulbs, night stand lamps in bedroom didn't work. Beds are NOT queen, they're full size. Yard is NOT fully enclosed and fenced, washing machine doesn't work, front yard is all literally weeds and bushes are so overgrown you have to walk carefully on the path to the front door. The 4 beach chairs? Lol! One is wooden and rotten and is a lawn chair, one is broken, one is an Adirondack and only one was able to be taken to the beach. Get this...NO tv/cable the entire stay! There is only one small tv in the whole house and it did work. They tried to get comcast out but they wouldn't come. Thank goodness we brought our roku. Not one extra blanket in the place or extra towel for anyone. I've stayed in a lot of rental houses and this was by far the worst. It was not at all what was listed. The positive? The location is great and all of the local neighbors are very friendly. Loved having our dog meet the local dogs on the private beach every day.
