Welcome to Gildridge, a stunning private estate in East Sussex featuring a 17th-century Manor House, two adjacent cottages, and six acres of landscaped grounds. With a tennis court and three hot tubs, this secluded retreat offers a perfect escape from modern life. Ideal for large family groups of up to 32 guests using fold-up beds, the estate is also available for weddings, parties, and events, including marquee hire. Step through our gates and feel at home in this countryside haven.

Main House:

Internally, the main house has a spacious reception hall with a tiled floor and staircase to the first floor. The formal reception room includes a characterful double aspect drawing room with an inglenook fireplace and wood burner. The kitchen/breakfast room has a range of recently fitted wall and base units and double doors leading out to the gardens. A useful utility room and a cloakroom complete the ground floor accommodation.

On the first floor, the principal bedroom has a shower room with twin sinks. There are five further bedrooms, one of which has an en suite bathroom, as well as a family bathroom.

In addition to the main house there are two cottages. Cottage 1 has a sitting/dining room. It also has a kitchen, cloakroom and two first floor bedrooms (one with en suite bathroom). Cottage 2 is attached to the garage and offers an open plan sitting/dining room with kitchen area, a bathroom and a first-floor open plan bedroom accessed via a feature spiral staircase.

The beautiful mature landscaped gardens surround the house and
include paved terraces, gardens, lawned areas, a tennis court and attractive ponds. Beyond the gardens there are paddocks and in all the property extends
to about 6.35 acres.

*Main House Bed Layout:
There are six bedrooms, three king size, two doubles and a twin room.
We have added a double sofa bed to each of the large en-suite rooms and there is also one in the lounge.

*The White Cottage:
The cottage offers an open plan sitting/dining room with kitchen area, a bathroom and a first-floor bedroom which features a double bed and two single beds in the same area and can be accessed via a feature spiral staircase. There is a low sloping ceiling.

*The Cottage at Gildridge:
The Cottage at Gildridge has a sitting/dining room and a fully equipped kitchen, cloakroom and two first floor bedrooms (one with en suite bathroom).

The whole estate including 6 acres of gardens, children’s play areas, tennis court, picnic areas and three hot tubs.

Available by phone 24 7 and in person on a daily basis if required.

In the beautiful Sussex countryside. Lots of country walks with excellent pubs serving food nearby.

We recommend you have your own transport at this property is in the countryside but within a short drive to Brighton, Eastbourne and plentiful local attractions and countryside walks. some very good pubs that do exceptional food.

We are not currently licensed for weddings but are able to host wedding celebrations.

Weddings and events must be agreed with us prior to booking. We do not allow noisy partys, raves etc etc. There are noise limitations after 9 pm.

*Chiddingly 1.75 miles, Lewes 8 miles, Eastbourne 12 miles, Brighton & Hove 15 miles, London 49 miles.
*The historic county town of Lewes is some 8 miles from the property and offers a comprehensive range of shops and amenities, together with a mainline train service to London (London Bridge/Victoria about 64 minutes). The coastal, business and entertainment centres of Eastbourne and Brighton & Hove are both about 12 and 15 miles respectively.

*Dog Friendly (up to 4 dogs per stay)

*Home includes a Smart TV with cable TV for your use.

*Hot tub’s available. Extra charge. Hot tub’s are £46 a night per hot tub which includes cleaning, chemical’s, filling and heating. Hot tub’s can be used until 9pm and absolutely no food or drink to be consumed whilst in hot tub. They are private and for your use only.

* Sofabeds are available on request.

*High chairs, travel cots, and stair gates must be requested at least 24 hours before arrival and are subject to availability. We do not supply linen, quilts, etc for the travel cot.

*Tennis court is free to use.

* Home offers an EV Charger and is contactless payment and is located in the parking area behind white cottage.

*Tea, coffee and sugar is supplied.

*We will send the code to open the front gate prior to check in.

*Main house has a washing machine and a separate tumble dryer for your use.

*Due to health and safety regulations log burners are not available to use.

*No sellotape, blueback, or similar to be used to fix any decorations to any surface including walls in the property.

*No fireworks at all. Horses and dogs nearby.

*No music out side after 9pm

* We accept absolutely no liability whatsoever for any loss or damage sustained whilst staying at the properties, grounds and facilities at the properties Gildridge, The Cottage and The White Cottage.
Pet Policy:
This estate only allows (8) pets per stay.

Tennis Courts:
Tennis courts are available year-round
No pets are allowed in the tennis court.
Tennis court gates should be kept closed at all times for safety.
The courts are for tennis only. No bikes, skates, skateboards, scooters or other activities are permitted on the court at any time.
Children under the age of 10 must be supervised by an adult at all times.

HOT TUB RULES:
Extra charge applies for use of hot tub.
NO Pregnant women, children and those with heart disease
ASK your doctor before getting in if you take medicines or have medical condition
Don’t get in tub if you have open sores or wounds, or cuts, or diarrhea
SHOWER off particles, oils, fake tan, cosmetics, hair gels, etc…before getting in. Wearing of fake tan is not allowed as it will spoil the water for your stay and clog the filters. Charge for extra cleaning is a minimum of £100 as we would have to empty the tub, clean filters, clean hot tub, refill and reheat.
No drugs or alcohol. No food or drink.
Pets not allowed in the tub.
Keep your head, arms and upper chest out of the water to avoid overheating
Stay hydrated before getting into the hot tub
Get out if you feel dizzy, overheated, nauseous, or unwell
Close the lid when you are not using the tub to keep water temperature from falling.
Do Not sit, lay or stand on the hot tub cover. Damaged cover will be charged at £750.
Be careful when getting out so you don’t slip and fall. We accept no liability to anyone using the hot tub.

*Park at your own risk as management assumes no responsibility for any damage, theft, or loss that may occur while the vehicle is parked.

*Caution should be exercised when walking the grounds as there are several ponds on the property.

*Caution should be exercised as there are a lot of low oak beams in main house. Parts of which are over 400 years old.

Tennis court lighting is not available.
