Our stay in the country side
We had no difficulty in locating this property as it was right on the main road. Initially we had problems connecting with our host as they did not respond to emails or texts until we learned that we needed to use the WhatsApp which is not common in Canada but used throughout Europe. the house was traditional but had modern conveniences which was helpful. The nights were cold and Paula had set up the wood burning fireplace for us for heat which we didn't use as there was a heater in the living room and one of the two bedrooms. We were about 30 minutes from everything we wanted to do and the drive back to the airport was easy. There was a list of information and instructions on the table regarding how to use things which was very handy. She had also had a bottle of port wine, some almond cookies and fresh apples on the table to greet us. A very nice touch. Our only drawback was the lack of hot water for doing dishes (the dishwasher ran on cold water) and on our last night there, we lost electricity. However, Paula was able to walk us through resetting the power and our vacation ended on a happy note. Great place for a family with lots of space, an above ground pool and apple and lime trees.
