Clearly this has been a very grand building and whilst everything was nice, our room (superior with sea view) just needed a little TLC, bed was very comfortable, bathroom was really big just a bit tired. Staff were friendly enough and all communal areas were nice, breakfast on patio with sea view, roof top bar and pool all added to the grandeur.

“A Grand Hotel”

Lovely large rooms, with excellent service from the staff. our room had TWO bathrooms! Fantastic sea view if you get a room at the front of the hotel. Loved the period features. Breakfast was superb, plenty of choice. Good location to use as a base to visit Pisa, Lucca, Florence etc. Parking, onsite and free.

Beautiful room with sea view

The room was modern and clean. Shower possibly requires a door or curtain as bathroom gets very wet due to water spilling out everywhere. Continental breakfast was good and plentiful. Would recommend this hotel if wanting to explore surrounding area. Livorno itself isn't really a tourist area for non italian citizens.

Great Hotel - but could be so much better!

The hotel itself is stunning and the views from the 5th floor pool and bar are the highlight. The pool is small, suitable for a cool down but not much else, although it does look great. And I think that just about somes the hotel up - it looks fantastic but lacks a certain something. The reception staff are professional but not very welcoming, there is no concierge service to give information about Livorno and it is a good 25 minute walk into town. Breakfast service is good and the staff there are a little friendlier if they do all appear a little rushed.

Nachdem unser Zimmer nicht sauber war und das Bad einen unangenehmen Geruch hatte, haben wir ein kostenloses upgrade der Suite erhalten. Diese Suite war sehr angenehm, doch hier das gleiche Problem mit der Sauberkeit, welche nicht eingehalten wird. Das Frühstücksbuffet war sehr klein und geschmeckt hats auch nicht wirklich. Wir waren leider enttäuscht und hätten mehr von einem 5-Sterne Hotel erwartet. Die Lage des Hotels war i.O. und die Aussicht war schön.

Kellner waren sehr freundlich aber zu wenig aufmerksam, fand ich sehr schade, manchmal musste man Sie holen gehen, damit man was bestellen konnten. Das Tisch--Abräumen hätte auch besser sein können, zum Teil sind an dem Tisch gekommen um Bestellungen anzunehmen und mit leeren Händen wieder gegangen obwohl der Tisch voll Geschirr war, da müsste man etwas daran arbeiten.
