I was provided with a room that was unbearably hot, to the point where my restless night was spent on top of the covers, with a towel at the side of me, to mop sweat away.
This was not a weather issue as, although the night was not cold, the temperature outside was far cooler than inside. In fact I had purchased a bar of chocolate and left it in my room, only to find it literally melted in its wrapper in the middle of the night.
The room was on the top floor at the side of the elevators, and the motors were perhaps the source of the heat, but it was not good. There was no air conditioning, but was a fan in the room, which could not be used because of the noise.
On top of this, the toilet roll holder kept falling off the wall, and the hot tap didn't work in the bathroom.
All of this was just a nuisance, but when asked if I had enjoyed my stay, I politely explained the issues, only to be effectively told by Piotr that I was at least partly to blame for not reporting it, and the rest was just how things are. I said that it would have been unreasonable to come down to highlight things at the late hour that I settled in the room, and was told I should have used the phone.
Fortunately, the far less experienced, but far more supportive Kamila apologised for the inconvenience and pacified me, but the pomposity and arrogance of the former have led me to put pen to paper.
I have stayed in this hotel before without issue, but have also stayed in the tropics with less problem
