Basic motel, awful smell

Pros: The shower was good, bathroom was clean and room was spacious. One of the cheapest rates you can get near the airport.
Cons: The smell of the rooms! Something needs to be done about it. The worst however was the smell of the pillowcases - like a dirty dish rag. Unacceptable.
Location: Convenient for getting to and from the airport, that's about it.
I know the area is a bit rough, so knew what I was getting into. Around here you might see prostitutes, addicts and homeless people but in LA they're everywhere. You don't wanna be roaming the streets at night but with a car you'll be fine. The location is convenient for reaching the airport. In general my experience was poor. First room they gave us smelled like people have been smoking cigarettes in there for the past decade. The next room also smelled bad (in a different way) but I was too tired to start looking for another place to stay. The staff was ok but didn't seem to care much. The room itself was okay even if it was dated and the decor was kind of depressing. With simple motels you don't expect too much - especially with the lower rates in LA. It was spacious and the bathroom was clean. Shower was good. The worst part of it was the smell of the pillowcases and sheet. They literally smelled like dirty dish rag in the kitchen... or a wet dog or something. Yes, you get what you pay for, but I think you can ALWAYS expect to have clean sheets for the very least. I wouldn't stay here again or recommend it to anyone. There is plenty of choice in the area.
