Free parking in a municipal car park some distance away, room was basic but clean, lobby was grubby, stairs to rooms were narrow and the light kept going out leaving you in the dark with a bannister that was very loose and wouldn’t have stood any weight falling against it, if a little maintance were done it would be ok, breakfast was a croissant a bread roll, coffee and orange for €5 each, cafes either side that provided a good breakfast for the same money

The hotel is old.. the picture listed her makes it look as if it super big... a little deceiving.. the rooms are small with private restroom, you have to sleep with the windows open as it doesn’t have AC.. it can get vwry hot at night.. is okay for the price.. and for a one night stay... but if you can afford to pay a little more.. do so and book elsewhere.

I expected better than I got.
The information I got from my searches on the internet while booking the hotel was completely wrong. The room was so small that it could only accommodate a bed. No table, only foldable plastic chair with a tiny corner shelf used as table, no space for anything else. The bed was very uncomfortable and there was no pillows only one miniature long roll Instead. This was the worst ever hotel I have ever been in.

For an overnight stay, it is okay but I think if I stay for more than a day, I will not stay here. Pretty basic accommodation, tight squeeze for a bathroom and the elevator is another tight good for two especially if the two people riding are heavy set. It's a claustrophobic elevator with two doors. I only rode it once and decided to use the narrow stairs which is another complaint I have. At daytime, it is dimly lit. No lights are on, only the daylight, I guess they are conserving electric bills because I saw the guy turning the switch off at day time but at night time, the lights were on, thank God. I think they should turn the lights on 24 hours not only during night time because these stairs are "an accident waiting to happen". The rungs are narrow and its winding so some steps are narrowed more at the edges due to the curves and if a person is not careful and is in rush they might miss a step, fall or tumble down, break some ankles or worst...I have a failing eyesight and can't barely see in the dark so I have to grope myself, hold the rail and slowly ascend or descend, just to be careful and be sure that I landed correctly on these stairs. Be like Motel 6 - they turn the lights on for you. (Smile). At least, the only staff we met in this visit is pleasant although he missed giving us our yogurts during breakfast, lol! That 5 euro/person breakfast that consisted of 2 croissants, 1 baguette half in two, coffee or tea, orange juice and the missing yogurts is okay.

Our stay is okay. The staff are very helpful and friendly although we cannot communicate very well bec of the language barrier. The heating and ventilation in the room is good. The only thing that we are not happy about is that most of the time the elevator is not working. It is very hard to climb up the stairs for a person who has a knee problem.

Got what I paid for - maybe even a bit more
I booked 18 days mid January to beginning of March at the special price of £17 per night. I got a very nice room (#406) on the top floor with a pleasing view over parts of Lourdes and towards the mountains. I had a room equipped as a double, though I had booked a single. The only downside of the room was a leak in the wash basin, that spilled water on the floor of the otherwise completely acceptable ensuite bathroom. Heating of the room was adequate - though by mistake it was switched of for one night by the receptionist. During the day there were road-works (or water/electricty/gas) going on in front of the Hotel, which dod not bother me much as I spent the days out. ... Breakfast was OK - but availability difficult. I was told, that I have to instruct the evening before if I want breakfast. As there was no-one at the reception when I returned in the evening I left a note asking for breakfast next morning 7:15. That note was ignored, so I made other breakfast arrangements then for the remaining days. ... Room service was OK, apart from the fact that the staff does not think that hovering would be part of their duties. So I grabbed a hoover in the hallway and hoovered myself a few times. Only once did a member of staff hoover, after I "caught" them in the act and insisted on it. ... Lift tends to be stuck on 3rd floor => Often in the evening I had to walk up the stairs. ... Off season most hotels and restaurants and some attractions are closed. Go Tarbes by bus.

Convenient and clean hotel at a great price
Great hotel to stay if you are not after luxury or facilities. The rooms are small but clean and sufficient as most people will be spending their day around the town or at the Sanctuary. Good wifi speed, great location, great service from the staff.

Hotel or Fawlty Towers
Image of Hotel on-line is different to real image. Gave benefit of the doubt. Reception is on first floor and Jamel was very pleasant. He insisted on carrying bag upstairs for me. Room was at the back of the building, facing onto the garden, which was a plus as the street can be very busy. Furnishings were old and dated, but beds were clean and comfortable. Towels were changed daily. Breakfast @ €5 each was more than adequate. The two owners do all the tasks themselves, and it is a work in progress. Upstairs rooms have been worked on and in view of this we look forward to seeing the changes planned on our return next September.
