King Arthur-style made Lucca even more authentic!
This is such a fun place to stay. I was attracted to the decor on Hotels.com site, and it was outstanding in person! The medieval decor was so unusual and we truly enjoyed the special touches: Draped footed tub in the room, poster bed, brick and stone walls. A great breakfast inside our in the garden. Friendly staff, easy access, comfortable and spacious room. Great tv and wifi reception. The decor was amazing and every detail added to our enjoyment. An easy walk to Lucca center and safe and quiet neighborhood. Easy parking on property (only 3 spaces) and a free lot two-minutes away. Stairs are steep and we had the third floor, but once suitcases were up, we were fine with the climb to our tower room. We loved this place and would definitely return. Outstanding value and environment. Bravo!

This place is a lovely old rooming house with a communal dining room and back garden. It is set back from the busy street so was very quiet at night. They served the most excellent breakfast that we had at any of our b & b stays during a 2 week trip. The rooms are very opulently decorated in the theme of the King Arthur legend... we stayed in the Lancelot room... chain mail helmet lamp shades, Trompe-l'œil walls, old exposed brick, beautifully and delightfully done after a spate of all white/Ikea decorated places before. It is an easy walk to the old city walls and convenient to bus stops that can take you to the stations. Wonderful place and wonderful service.

Lucca B and B Corte’ Di Re Artu
This cute small house has been carefully and delightfully renovated back to a medieval style, with current day creature comforts. There are only 3 on-site parking spots, and after dropping off your bags you will have to move the car 50 meters away to a free lot, which was easy. Guest rooms are on upper three floors, navigated via quite steep and narrow stairs. I had to leave my suitcase in the car and just brought up select items to the room. There is no air conditioning in Lucca for B and Bs until June 1st, by law (hotels ok after May 1st I learned), so it was hot having rained, and there was no screen so mosquitoes got in. Ugh on that. The mattress was ok, breakfast was bountiful, and Francesca answered the phone when we called three times with questions during the evening. (She had left our keys and instructions for us as she’s only there until 2pm.). Lastly, please note the property is about 1/2 mile outside the gates of the town, not inside the city center, but we found plenty of pay parking lots just inside the city walls however, a nice feature, and they were not expensive.

Fun Hotel close to Town Center
Really fun decor and not too far from Lucca town center. Only issue was that we didn’t have a car so it was a bit of a walk from the train station to the B&B. A great breakfast spread with a wide array of options and good cappuccinos.

It was okay
Location is fairly good if you like to walk. The rooms have no sound barrier. We could hear entire conversations from our neighbors. The bed was old and not super comfortable. I don’t understand why some hotels and B&B’s don’t use mattress protectors. Come on. That is disgusting. I’m already sleeping in a bed that hundreds have slept in. At least put something between me and the 30 year old mattress that can be washed every once and a while. Side note. Parking was good and breakfast was decent.

Great fun place.
Great find and fun place. It is not manned full time and you need an access code to get in. This was slightly problematic (several phone calls before we got code)so would make sure I had it in advance next time. Hotel claim they provide code but its not passed on. However great room, location and excellent breakfast. Really enjoyed our time here.

Staying in King Arthur's day
The rooms have a lot of character. We stayed in the Lady Guenivier. It was quite fanciful with a large bed draped with material. There were murals painted on the wall and a clawfoot bathtub in the room with red tuling canopied over it.The air conditioner was not working very well. The staff was helpful and they made fresh capucinno for breakfast.

Quirky Hotel
I stayed for two nights. I was a bit surprised to arrive and to have to let myself in and find my own room keys but I suppose it is actually a B&B rather than a proper hotel, so maybe I should have noted that. The breakfast was really great- much choice and all very nice. It's a 5-10 minute walk to the main city. The room and hotel in general were all decorated very much in an arty, quirky style. It's a very interesting B&B to stay in.

Cute spot
Really cute place, the room was decorated a bit like a castle. Breakfast was good too, a good range even for someone gluten intolerant. The lady was helpful and directed us to their other property inside the walls to leave our bags for the morning so it was closer to the train station.

A B & B
Not really a 'hotel' - more of a B & B. It was locked up when we arrived at 2pm and we had to wait outside not knowing what to do or whether it was going to be open. Not the best experience when travelling. I'd recommend staying within the walls of Lucca near to all amenities.

We adored Corte Di Re Artu, just from the pictures we knew the place was for us but the website doesn't do it justice. The Brilliant Decor & Special Magic of our room together with a fabulous full moon was truly inspiring..... will we be back oh yes D&s

Lucca wall and old town a short walk away.
We stayed 4 nights found the welcome relaxed informal and welcoming, we had a very nice room decorated in a medieval theme quite different and amusing, clean bathroom and a good breakfast in the morning then a walk around the walls, perfect!
