One sentence to describe this place: “The hotel that couldn’t care less”. No care for the comfort or safety of its residents. The staff are demotivated and disinterested. Checking in at 1:00am (with a reservation) took over half an hour as the receptionist decided to serve a walk-in customer who was arguing about the rate. Then, the receptionist transformed into bar tender, also to serve the walk-in customer a soft drink; all the while, we were exhausted, waiting desperately to be given a key to the room.
Meanwhile the person who was in front of me, returned to the desk after he was issued a key to room that hadn’t been serviced. He took photos! So he had to be issued with a different key.
We were checking in during a stormy and snowy night. The car park had not been cleared. Cars were slipping on the ice. No one cared even though there is a grit box on site.
The real misery started when I got to my room. The heating has to be turned on manually. It fusent work (although the fan made the right noises). The duvet is fit for a cool summer evening. I flipped it on itself to get more warmth. There are no additional blankets. The shower and the bath tap work simultaneously… the bath is being filled while you shower!!
They had run out of basic amenities at reception. And they couldn’t care less.
All I can say that I was glad to get out of that awful hotel as soon as daylight broke. Never again in Ibis!!
