The hotel was 19th Century charm but the bathrooms were early 20th century and not so charming. I also found the staff less than helpful. I requested twice that because the comforter in the duvet was too warm to please remove it. After 2 nights, I did it myself. I was also assured the rooms had in-room safes. What I wasn't told that it was in the top of the cabinet reachable only by standing on a chair. I asked for a stool and was told that wasn't possible. I lost a coin purse with 60 pounds in it and their lack of care or concern were remarkable. If they find it does turn up even with the 60 pounds, I'd like it sent to me.

Wonderful stately hotel building and excellent servicel. Staff were friendly, polite and efficient. We had a very comfortable stay with our dog in the Park area of the hotel. The swimming pool and spa area was lovely and the grounds around the hotel are of outstanding beauty. We ate at the Brasserie in the stable block. The food was delicious although quite pricey.

This is a beautiful hotel in a beautiful setting and over the years have stayed here many times. However, it is quite apparent that there has been no investment to the property and it is looking tired, scruffy, dirty and not well maintained. Such a shame. Appreciate the hotel is old-fashioned however the fittings need to be updated. The housekeeping was done very well but dont like staying in this level of hotel and having plastic bathroom glasses to drink your water out of.

The prices are exorbitant, and the service is one-star hotel standard. Everything is old. The taps are leaking. The toilet is black from dirt and old age. The food is poor. Cutlery and plates of the twentieth century. The staff don't say hello. At the reception, they give wrong information. They gave me a cheaper room than I paid for. Instead of a king-size bed, I was placed in a room with a double bed. I'm very upset.

Beautiful !
Beautiful property and accommodation. Everything was perfect for 4 adults and 1 child. We had two rooms which were very spacious, well anppointed and clean. Had the full breakfast every morning of our 3 day stay. Dinner one night. Delicious food and excellent service in the restaurants. Excellent service at the front desk also. Everyone was very friendly and helpful throughout.
