Beautiful old abbey, but rooms need a fair bit of modernisation. The main light wasn't working, the lift was temperamental, so had to drag my suitcase up the stairs and guests next door were partying until 3AM smoking pot (obviously not the hotel's fault but no phone to call reception to report it). Overall not the best experience staying there.

Basic hotel, to be expected from an ancient monastery. Very clean, great breakfast but horrible parking as we literally had to park a Km away. Very quiet and historic.

My room was cold and austere. I read some reviews that complained about this. Of course, that is the historic setting for this hotel. It was a Catholic seminary and boarding school. So cold and austere is what it was supposed to be. If you were looking for room service and a full spa, this will not be the place for you. With that said, the bed was comfortable. My room was clean. The staff was friendly. The surroundings were lovely. And there is a mystique about staying in a historic building like this. So in this case, cold and austere, created a very warm experience. I would totally stay there again.

Don't expect any kind of luxury or comfort at this hotel/abbey. The place just felt very austere on the inside compared to the amazing surroundings and feel on the outside. We ended up leaving after the first night as it was not for us. Breakfast was quite expensive for what was on offer.
The one good thing was proximity to the town center which had a good variety of bars and good restaurants.
I am sure this place is fantastic for some due to its historical interest and being a UNESCO heritage site.
It wasn’t the cleanest hotel I’ve stayed at, there was a footprint in the bathroom that wasn’t ours and cleaning service only changed towels on our 3 day stay, didn’t empty bins or make the bed.
The property itself made up for it, absolutely beautiful
I had stayed here before some years ago for a work trip, had a nice visit... decided to take the family for 2 nights while we were visiting the area- totally different experience now. It was so bad we left after the first night. Rooms they gave us were in an attic of an outbuilding! I am sure prisoners have better accomodation. Front desk people could have cared less, still a nice property to walk around but STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE! Got a 1-night refund from hotels.com but was not refunded on taxes from the hotel.
The historical aspect of this property is unique. This former abbey allows for a relaxing stay and it is an experience to wander through a complex with so much history. The rooms are simple but clean and quiet. The staff could not be more friendly and customer oriented. Highly recommendable!
Absolutely love Rolduc, however staff were either really good (restaurant) or poor (reception and bar). Bar staff forgot our order for drinks twice and the biggest piece of advice i can give is keep your receipts. On checking out, we were told we owed dir a meal that we had already paid for. The receptionist was very unfriendly and helpful. My husband found our receipt and was told he could now leave. No apology, this was the least she could have done! After all it was their computer system that had made this error. We have stayed here before but will now think twice before returning.
I always like staying here, the building is a gorgeous historical monastery.
The rooms are clean, if a bit spartan, but I really need nothing more.
The tourist tax was €2.5, not €0.15 like this site believed at the time.
