Welcome to ‘River View Estate’ a Victorian-style country home nestled on the serene Hunter River. Spread across 100 acres of picturesque countryside, this enchanting location offers a perfect blend of natural beauty, timeless elegance and a relaxing vibe – perfect for your next girls’ weekend, family reunion or romantic retreat. The home itself boasts a gracious façade with ornate fretwork, two gorgeous wrap-around verandas, six bedrooms, each with a Queen bed and views in every direction.
This stately two-storey home is simply magnificent, with heritage features including stained glass windows and French doors, incredibly ornate balustrading, picture rails, ornate pressed ceilings and stunning ceiling roses. What an incredible setting for a truly fabulous long weekend getaway or perhaps a longer stay!
The dining room is picture perfect - with timber floors and a rustic dining suite - the perfect scene for a lavish feast - perhaps of fresh seafood(the local oysters are divine!), grass-fed beef and organic produce, with, of course, a few bottles of the Hunter’s best wines. There is even a snooker table - such a sophisticated country estate vibe. You could spend hours here shooting pool and shooting the breeze. Then retire to the living room with its beautiful décor, sumptuous sofas, Gatsby-style leadlight and stained glass and ornate ceilings. Or head out to benches that cluster around the firepit area, where weathered bush rocks create the perfect frame for a blazing fire.
Six bedrooms, each featuring a Queen bed, can accommodate up to 12 guests and all boast gorgeous countryside or water views and period-style furniture that perfectly suits the sophisticated aesthetic of this grand property. Comfortable queen beds in every bedroom are made up with lovely linen and the rooms themselves are laden with heritage features including ornate cornices, bedside tables, subtle lamps and light fixtures from a beautiful bygone era.
Cook up a big brekky after a lazy, late wake up or throw together a charcuterie board, grab a bottle of bubbles and head to the upper or lower veranda - your choice - to watch the sun set across the river and the breathtaking farmland that surrounds this gracious property. The country kitchen is fully stocked to make your rustic getaway complete - with a full fridge and freezer, oven, stove, microwave, toaster, kettle, pots, pans, condiments and more!
If several families are travelling together and you are bringing the children, they will be entertained for hours exploring the countryside, perhaps throwing a fishing line in the river and giggling and chasing each other in the huge playground outside! With slides and climbing ladders and much more they will have the time of their lives…and you will get a chance to chill and chat.
