We arrived the premises sroujd 2am and it took many attempts including 10 unasnwered phonecalls and finally a shout out to a customer who was at the bar to finally gain access. My wife and I were actually exposed to a drunken mob outside and she was absolutely petrified

Heating was only available when the keycard was active so the room was very cold when we arrived. Heater made one corner of the room nice and warm but not the bit where the bed was. No heater in the bathroom. Priority seemed to be style over comfort. Staff were very welcoming and pleasant. Excellent location. Would probably stay again but not in winter.

Nice place, central location
This was a nice hotel. My room was on the 6th floor, which was nice. I liked the bathroom, had a large bathtub and magnifying mirror. The bed was comfy enough. There was a random credit card charge from the hotel though and I’m not sure what I was charged for.

The best place to stay in Central Manchester !
What a fantastic place to stay in central Manchester ! The hotel was super comfortable, spacious and relaxed. Spotlessly clean and the breakfast had so much choice and was excellent all round. However, by far the standout part of our stay at The Alan was…….the staff. James and his team were outstanding and made is feel incredibly welcome, nothing was too much trouble and all the restaurant and bar staff were amazing too. Great job everyone!

Not sure I would agree with design led
The entrance feels potentially design led, although I would also say minimal and perhaps done on a budget which is reflected in the rest of the hotel. The furniture in our room was very outdated and clearly old, with bathrooms also not in keeping with the aimed aesthetic. Perfectly fine for a night's sleep & was ok priced but wasn't blown away.

Very good stay for family of 4.
Arrived and room wasn’t ready, waited in bar and gave complimentary drinks until it was. Hotel is in great location to walk to nearby Christmas market, with nearby parking (expensive but you do get a hotel discount). Room was perfect for the family of 4 with 2 double beds, only issue with room was air con not working and shower wasn’t the best, but fine for a one night stay. Breakfast which was included in my rate was very good, although there were people who just wanted a light bite not willing to pay the set £17 price.

Some staff were friendly & helpful, others not so much. Arrived to an event in the reception area that was really busy & loud. The room was clean but basic and disappointing. Cocktails from the bar were nice and breakfast was lovely.
