My favorite hotel in all the world! The history, the architecture, the food, the rooms—-both in the “old” section and in the tower—-everything about the place inspires. As I think Hemingway said “the Manila Hotel is perfect.” I couldn’t agree more. The magnificent breakfast often included with the room rate remains the best. And lunch and dinner in the main restaurant (where breakfast is served as well) offers you great variety and the finest quality. Every trip I make to the Philippines starts at the Manila Hotel when a hotel representative meets me at the airport after my 26 hour flight!

Second time staying at this hotel and again it was fabulous. Historic hotel with very nice restaurants. Nice cozy bar. Rooms are large but a but dated. The hotel is quiet and convenient as well as relaxing and convenient to places.

Great hotel, we were upgraded because my gold status with hotels.com but the rooms are all very nice, clean, spacious and good amenities. Restaurants are great and good location. Service is really what made the difference for us, the staff is incredible

A beautiful hotel from another time. From checkin to checkout everything was perfect. All the staff were very professional.The breakfast buffet was very extensive but very busy, even at 730am. The staff was very helpful in helping us find a driver to San Juan, La Union.

Below expectations
The stay was pretty good up until the political events within the hotel regarding the Filipino political parties. When they showed up there was no place to eat because of the other outside individuals decided to be there for the next week or so not fun. The hotel should set up a Designated Place so that the “Paying Guest” have a place to eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner that was not done. I had to go outside and find something to eat. Not good at all…in any imaginable way. I did receive an apology for management in writing from the Manila hotel Manager for their poor service, but that does not excuse the fact that they have no forward thinking.

We love The Manila Hotel. We stay there every time we visit the Philippines, which is almost every year. It may not be the newest and the grandest hotel nowadays, but it has a unique charm and its history. The lobby is beautiful and always so full of life! The staff members (most of them) are great— friendly, courteous, and helpful. We feel so at home whenever we are there. We consider it our home away from home.
