Such a gem! The Mexican food truck on the property is a 10/10 and the bar is great! Very unique property! If you’re looking for authentic Keys experience this is it! Not an elegant 5 Star Hotel and that’s why we loved it! Clean, comfy and cozy!

Stayed at Tropical Cottages during a bicycle trip with my husband - it was clean, comfortable, and we had all we needed. We accessed the cottage via an app - a link was emailed to us before we arrived. This property has a taco truck and a bar, and when we showed up it was nice to arrive in this upbeat atmosphere! Property is just off of the highway, tucked back on a quiet side street. Hot shower, comfortable bed. I wanted to borrow a hair dryer and though there wasn't one in the room, I called the phone number and a woman arrived at my door with one in seconds. We would definitely stay here again.

Great overnight stay. Very gracious host. Copious amounts of coffee in am. Sorry to miss evening bar and food. Looked awesome. Could have used one more pillow and extra blanket, but really mellow chill place. Highly recommend!

Staff was friendly and helpful. The taco stand had really good food for a good price. And within walking distance was Herbies (very very good food and good local beer on tap). Sombrero beach is just a Mile away which is a must for swimming and sunbathing.

Great big roomy apartment

Lovely roomy apartment. Extremely comfortable bed. Great big kitchen area, a kettle would have been good. Outside seating area was very relaxed. We thought we had booked for 3 beds but only had 2.

Above and beyond!!

This is the second stay at this property, the first time was a very nice last minute 1 night stay. This time we planned on staying there again along our route driving out the Keys. My wife booked an off-site location by accident and we didn't realize it until I checked in. We went to the off-site property and went up to the room, Although it was very nice as well, my wife was a little disappointed because we were looking forward to the same experience as last time. After about 30 minutes, I called the front desk and told them what had happened. He looked through his reservations and found a cottage like the first one we had stayed in and loved us, although it was our fault! He had no obligation to do this, but went above and beyond to make us happy. Additionally, with the off-site property having an outdoor flight of stairs, the new cottage made it much easier to navigate, especially since I have a bad back (several surgeries & a pain pump implant) and my wife has bad knees (in need of a knee transplant). For all of these reasons and more, we will be staying again, should our travels take us back there!!! One of our favorite places to stay!!

The Cottage made a wonderful stay for a quick getaway. I shared the main cottage with another family and my only complaint is that because the walls are thin, we were awakened by their incessant argument and the constant slamming of their suite and main doors.

We recently stayed here and were disappointed that the unit we were given didn’t match the pictures shown online. The bathroom setup was unexpected and uncomfortable—it had an outdoor toilet with just a shower curtain serving as the door and a shower without roof coverage. The Wi-Fi signal was very poor, making it impossible to watch TV or stay connected. On a positive note, the staff was very friendly and responsive, but unfortunately, there were no other units available for us to switch to, so we had to make do with what we were given. The highlight of the stay was the nice tiki bar/taco truck in the back, which had a great vibe. Overall, while there were some good aspects, the misleading online photos and lack of proper indoor amenities left us disappointed.

Quite possibly the most comfortable bed in the Florida Keys if you enjoy sleeping on a cloud, the room we stayed in was super cool with the sunken living room. The full service bar had excellent drinks on the tacos rock.

My one night stay at the Tropical Cottages was good. The grounds are cute and they have a bar and food truck. The room I stayed in needed a bit of updating, but was clean. It had a kitchenette and the bathroom was connected and private but was outside. I actually loved the outdoor shower. I stayed in a large cottage that was split into 3 rooms and my only complaint would be the thin walls. I could here the people in the next room and they stayed up late. I would stay again.
