Grossly mis-advertised
We booked the villa primarily because of its advertised location - the map put it next to the Djema el Fna in the centre of Marrakech and the description points listed it as "6m on foot" from Djema el Fna. The villa was very expensive but the proximity of the medina was our primary need, we accepted the high price hoping for a bit of luxury. The day before arrival, the host finally provided the address - the villa is in the Palmeraie, not close to the medina at all and necessitating a taxi ride. When I pointed out it was nearly 20 minutes drive I was told "no it is 6/7/8 minutes and taxis are plentiful. I was told not to worry as there would be a man on site who would help us to get taxis etc. This put out minds at rest. Upon arrival at the villa, this man was there for a few minutes to show us the house (that was not ready despite the owner assuring us it would be ready for our arrival) and he agreed to take us to the nearby carrefour for supplies. After this we never saw him again. The house is nice but the decor tired and old - wallpaper peeling off walls, no terrace furniture at all - no cushions on the two only sunbeds and no care taken with anything. Only 6 chairs at the dining table when we were 8. I would not recommend this house at all unlesThere were two women in the house at all times - one was a cleaner - the other we were told could cook for us for a 15 euro per day fee plus we would purchase the food. We agreed to breakfast te the atmosphere really unpleasant.
