Disappointing Birthday Getaway
I was supposed to receive a non smoking King Suite with a kitchenette and jacquzzi tub. I rec'd a King smoking room with neither the kitchenette or jacquzzi. The covers and sheets had burn holes, there were crumbs all over the floor to where I didn't feel comfortable walking barefoot, and the toilet clogged with minimal toilet paper. When I asked for a plunger, I was told, "Sure, come down and get it". At 11pm. When I went down to get it, there was no one at the front desk and they had left the plunger in a bucket in between the doors. Completely unprofessional. The sheets in the bed felt like plastic sheets and the blanket was so thread bare I considered running out for a sheet set and blanket. There were very few plugs in the room and the only one near the bed to charge my phone was behind the bed and it wasn't safe. It was clear the staff couldn't be bothered with anything and treated minor requests like...check in and asking for a plunger like a major inconvenience.

We travel frequently and have a service dog - finding true pet friendly hotels is crucial. The room was clean and one of the nicer Super 8 hotels. The breakfast was exactly what it said - continental - and it was fine. Coffee, wrapped danishes, make your own waffles (we did not ), biscuits and gravel (we didn’t try), juice, bagels, and fruit. The hotel seems to cater to traveling workers and that wasn’t an issue. Things were clean outside and you have to understand that this is a rural community. The carpets did leave your feet dirty. Have a problem with that? Don’t lay on the floor. Wear shoes in the hotel. You cannot expect the hotel staff to clean carpets after every customer leaves - that’s a ridiculous expectation. The front staff was terrific! Friendly and helpful. Keep in mind that you get what you give - if you’re short with them, don’t expect a huge smile and graciousness. They were terrific for us. We had no issues at all. However, I really want to know where they get those squishy pillows!!!!!!! Corporate was zero help.

Not only did one of the lamps not work in the room and dust and dirt was on the carpet and walls but when I went to get a pillow (which they have limited supply of, and of towels) I could smell alcohol on the mans breath. Not to mention the weird stench in the room upon arrival. Wont go again.

Super 8 is fine
It was a low key stay, room was nice and it was clean and quiet. The shower was almost out of hot water at night but otherwise it was a good budget conscious choice.

We booked a room for 5 people 3 adults and 2 children. when we arrived there were only sleeping arrangements for 4 people, they had no rollaway beds, their suggestion for us was to go buy an air mattress. There were cockroaches in the room which I took pictures of and mold in the bathroom ceiling. I asked to speak with a manager and was told there wasn't one there and one would contact me. Nobody contacted me I called back 2 days in a row and still no manager available. I reached out to Expedia about this and they couldn't reach the hotel manager either. They said there is nothing else they could do. We were there for business and my business or personnel will not stay at super 8 or book through Expedia again. Nobody seems to care about what conditions they book people or bugs in the room. My daughter has health issues and this was unacceptable.

Our sink was broken and we did not know it. Our phones are ruined. Because they sat in water all night from the leak charging. How lucky are we we did not get hurt because of this. Bed sheets were dirty. Had to use our own blankets from our car. Comforter had cigarette burns all over them. Almost looked as if there were bullet holes in the ceiling. Room 320. No sleep because bed was disgusting. Absolutely horrible and ridiculous how gross this hotel is now. Health department will be called. Photos were taken.
