I loved staying here. I stayed 6 nights. The gardens and two pools are beautiful. There are fountains. The WiFi is great. The staff are nice. They have laundry service. It’s a tropical place in the city. I recommend it and hope to return.

The staff were friendly and helpful despite having limited English. The WiFi was intermittent. I sat at the pool to get a strong signal as I wasn't able to get one in my room. TV reception was fuzzy. The room itself was basic and tired. The bed sheets and towels had stains. The shower water was luke warm. There was plenty of breakfast options but they didn't cater to all tastes. The hotel was mostly used by locals.

Basically not a good area for finding any restaurants, old mall close by more modern need taxi for 2 miles each way. Pavements a challenge at 12 inches high, dotted with trees and missing manhole covers/slabs so you can disappear in the abyss of drains. KFC air con resto saved us and you can order as take out with free delivery. Grounds, rooms and pool were nice everything worked well. The gardens were large and beautiful. Only desperate thing was breakfast. Mostly hot lockers of Indonesian rice/curry/rice porridge. Fruit slices but on two mornings the papaya tasted like mouldy water . A nice little older waiter came to ask if we would like omelette. One two slice toaster with half a sliced loaf, communal butter jar where guests dipped knives to smother bread before toasting - all very messy along with the tables same coffee stains for two days. Nothing got replenished even when more guests used dining room, staff seemed to like to sit behind a big desk and look busy.

Centrally located with lovely expansive gardens
We spent 3 weeks at Lombok Garden while on business in Mataram. The hotel was in an ideal location for our needs and we particularly liked the expansive gardens, which are well maintained. We were originally in an older style bungalow overlooking the garden. That room was spacious but in need of maintenance. Because of ongoing internet access problems, we were upgraded to a room in the new part of the hotel, overlooking the pool. The downside was that the room, while modern, was much smaller, perhaps not suited for a longer stay like ours. Overall we were happy with our stay but there are some problems with service that need fixing (see below). The room was not thoroughly cleaned each day. The towels were thin and frayed, and toiletries, even toilet paper, were not regularly replenished. The pool towels were constantly 'habis' (run out). The young housekeeping staff, while friendly and kind, were in the habit of conducting loud shouted conversations across the two wings of the hotel, reverberating throughout the entire area. Dirty dishes from room service were regularly left lying outside rooms, often in the rain, for up to 24 hours. When we enquired about the possibility of another umbrella, we were told that only one could be supplied per room - even though the room sleeps two people.

With this price, this hotel was good enough. All that matters are the food on breakfast, not tasty at all, maybe because there are a lot of people stayed in this hotel so they couldn't taste the food properly before it served.

We were happy with what we got for the price but do note that the staff's command of English is limited, WiFi intermittent and the hot water was not working in some rooms. The majority of guests were Indonesian or SE Asian so presumably hotel gears more towards this demographic than Western tourists.

We had 2 stays here and were not impressed. Staff need to be more diligent and pleasant to their customers- that's all I can say. Rooms are very tired and mosquitoes galore . The grounds and 2 swimming pools are impressive but its the rooms that make it but these didn't do much for us - sorry. You get what you pay I guess.

We stayed twice here in one week due our travel arrangements. First superior room was musty , old worn out and dirty. There is no fridge , plastic coat hangers were broken and still left hanging in wardrobe . Bathroom old and tapes did not turn off and if you had hit water on in shower you had to be careful not to burn yourself because when turning it off to the right it turns on again !! Walls and ceilings badly needed painting . Asked for double and got two singles ! Pillows lumpy and hard . The curtaining was not block out so the the night light outside was shining into our room when we went to bed - thankful for eye masks ! Breakfast however was ok with some nice local dishes. The staff need to be more active in restaraunt as they just stand around against the wall and do nothing to serve you only take plates when you leave! Front desk staff blunt and direct nothing more ! Our second room we asked for a more modern cleaner room which we got near the first swimming pool. But there were mosquito s by the dozen that bit us all night!! The best thing was the swimming pools- long in length - and the gardens are beautiful. So important to up keep the rooms as well.

Very standaed hotel
This hotel is locales in a very centrical point of the city and has good infrastructure, but doesn't take advantage of its benefits. The buffet breakfast is very poor, and if you get late, there won't be milk or bread. The room service people don't speak good English and they may not deliver what you requested. The pool was full of kids that could be heard even from the room (because of the acoustics). The floor in the hall was not clean.

On arrival at the Lombok Garden Hotel I thought i was at a 4 or 5 Star Hotel. A beautiful Garden setting with a decent size pool in the middle surrounded by one or two level villas. This impression faded quickly when I entered my room.Though large, the room had cold ambience . The hotel was build more than 30years ago, and the only improvement made since was a heat/cold pump (air conditioning) and a flat screen TV. The bathroom had the quality of a "no star" hotel . The room had no fridge, no safe and no lockable piece of furniture ! The hotel offered to store valuables in a safe at the reception . Unfortunately smoking (as often in Bali) was permitted in the dining room . There were separate tables for smokers and non smokers, but despite open sides of the dining area, none smokers had to endure smoke as well ! I asked for and was shown a room at the new five storey building of the Lombok Garden Hotel. This room was much nicer and deserved the 31/2 star rating and is well worth the extra 50k Rupiah !

Dated hotel close to Mataram Mall
We stayed here one night after the Gili Islands as it is closer to the airport (45mins). The hotel staff were not very friendly in comparison to what we experienced elsewhere in Lombok and the gilis. The pool was nice, but rooms dated, bathroom stained and sheets didn't look the cleanest with some black spots and what looked like pen marks. Not the best, but Ok for what we paid.

Un bon hotel, avec piscine et restaurant, à Mataram près du Mataram hall, le grand centre commercial de la ville. Idéal pour ceux qui veulent échapper à Sengigi et aux touristes. Le restaurant sert des repas le soir, et un petit déjeuner buffet indonésien. Les temples hindoux de Mataram sont accessibles pour certains à pieds, pour d'autres en taxi.
